The Road Glide is back in France. Long-haul road, with its famous “Nose Shark” fairing which stands out, it appeals to the big rider in its Special version and the lover of luxury and lust in this over-equipped CVO.
Once you’ve cracked a small fortune, the happy Road-Glider may not have enough of the horizon to appreciate all the exuberance of this machine.. Just the engine could take all the attention. Huge, overflowing, impregnated from end to end of the fins by the history of Milwaukee and curious of modernism with the adoption of liquid cooling for the top-engine. Of the couple ? With its almost 16 mkg, it would make an elephant take off. Prestige? The guttural, wobbly and fat melody of the Twin Cam 110 alone suffices to present the reputation. With 1801cc, the Sreamin ‘Eagle is the biggest in the lineup.
With the particularity of leaning on the chassis, the huge fork crown constrains the steering less than on an Electra, which must support the Batwing. Revisited with the Rushmore project, its vents reduce pressure and eddies. A set of Daymaker LED headlights changes little the look but consequently the efficiency. To polish it all up, a screen with chrome inserts covers the fairing.
The Road Glide is a large cargo capacity with two suitcases and the Tour-Pak. In CVO, there is such a plethora of accessories that one would almost come to accept the undrinkable price. Take a moment longer to let your eyes taste the sparkling Slicer wheels, the ubiquitous multiple chromes, the selection of parts from the Airflow collection (pilot footboards, passenger footboards, selector tips, pedal brake and skid plate, advanced footrests, heated grips with rubber inserts and gear selector rod), a seat worthy of a high-end car (two perforated leather armchairs with adjustable passenger backrest and integrated heating). .. We almost forget the standard equipment found on more common models. But all the same: cruise control, Brembo brakes with ABS and Reflex coupling, Boom! Box 6.5 GT with 75 watts per channel and GPS, H-D Smart hands-free system, pneumatic rear suspension, One-Touch opening / closing concept, … it can last a long time.
And then, the quality of the paints and the colors available will quickly panic cardiac pacemakers on the terraces where the Road Glide Ultra 1800 CVO will stop. Do you only suffer from an absolute requirement to go on a Touring? This Harley-Davidson is more than you !
