Harley-Davidson Low Rider S (FXDLS)

"Customers have asked us again and again when Harley-Davidson will again build a bike in the style of the legendary FXR series", says Harley-Davidson styling director Brad Richards. The new Harley-Davidson Low Rider S is the answer. The S in the name stands for the 1801 cm³, air-cooled V-Twin. With 156 Nm at 3500 rpm, it should provide 30 Nm more than the conventionally equipped Low Rider.

Harley-Davidson offers the Low Rider S exclusively in the Vivid Black paintwork. Numerous components, from the fork to the tank console to the fender struts, are black, only the golden cast light alloy wheels stand out.

Alternatives to high-gloss chrome plating

"We have been working on alternatives to high-gloss chrome plating for some time, for example in the form of brushed, anodized or tinted clear lacquer surfaces.", explains Brad Richards. For the Harley-Davidson CVO Pro Street Breakout this means: attachments in "Smoke Satin Chrome".

Harley-Davidson Senior Stylist Dais Nagao explains what’s behind the advertising vocabulary: "Wherever we combine Smoke Satin Chrome with black surfaces, a […] multi-layer effect is created. As in the area of the valve and cylinder head covers: The upper cover is in glossy black, the lower one in Smoke Satin Chrome. The same applies to the heat shield on the exhaust, which corresponds to the black engine and the black rear silencers."
