After teleporting us to 1948, would the Sportster 1200 want to take us to 1972? Not at all ! Although Harley strives to decline many versions of its models, tinting them with the past and nostalgia, the Sportster Seventy-Two does not look in the ’60s.. Its mini ape-hanger handlebars, its riot of chrome, its saddle cut from a board and its forward controls are inspired by the atmosphere of the first choppers. The spirit that runs through metal and chrome is that of California. And the 72 is the name of a 25 km long road in Los Angeles, best known for its gatherings of followers of custom culture..

Sparkling, full of panache, the Sportster Seventy-Two is a breath of light in today’s Harley-Davidson universe, which cruises in the bobber and dark custom. And that color enthusiasm is even more vibrant in 2013, with the choice of Hard Candy colourways. A festival of glitter and sparkles worthy of the 60s. Among the 6 colors of the 72 available, 3 are sparkling at will. For 300 euros more, it’s frankly worth it to be tempted.
What a look! The front escapes lightly, the stern hugs the road, while the engine seems to want to experience its debauchery alone. In addition to the ubiquitous metallic reflections, the 72 does not lack styling effects, such as its spoked rims circled with white piping on the tires, the ridiculously large peanuts tank, the minimalist butt guards, its very flat solo seat and his handlebars at 1 meter 10 from the ground.
