The partnership between Coyote and Garmin begins with the new Garmin, the "Nulink! 1695", which will be offered for purchase with all of the Coyote features. After TomTom, this is the second time that Coyote System, inventor and self-proclaimed "European leader of fixed and mobile speed camera warning devices", has teamed up with a big name in GPS (read in particular).
A true social phenomenon boosted by the multiplication of speed cameras with 600,000 users in Europe, the process developed by Coyote is similar to the "high-tech" version of the good old daddy’s call of headlights: drivers equipped with l the alarm connected by GPS, GPRS and GSM to a central server indicates the position of permit traps speed camera checks to all other Coyote subscribers.
To avoid unpleasant surprises, the device also offers a "Pathfinder" function which allows to know the number of members of the community which precede them and the distance which separates them: very practical for measuring the validity of the information transmitted by the apparatus !
"The agreement signed with the world number one in GPS is first of all the recognition of the reliability of Coyote but also a real technological partnership for the benefit of a more serene and safer driving", estimates in politically correct language Fabien Pierlot, founder and manager of Coyote.
"It is also, thanks to the arrival of Garmin customers, a beneficial expansion of the entire Coyote community and an ever more reliable quality of information: it is the perfect illustration of our philosophy: community and technology", continues the young CEO.
As for Eric Bernard, General Manager of Garmin France, he underlines that "the new connected services as well as the addition of the Coyote service to the Nulink! 1695 are aimed at demanding customers looking for a powerful and complete GPS for facilitate their movements ".
The agreement is already effective, the first Garmin GPS "Nulink! 1695" equipped with the Coyote function should be marketed from October, first in France and Belgium.
Finally, let us remind Iphone users of the existence of the very effective – and completely free! – "Wikango" application, which also allows to know very precisely the locations of fixed and mobile speed cameras thanks to the exchange of information between members of the community.
