F70, lots of carbon and new communication systems

For 2020, HJC has presented a new helmet model, two new Bluetooth communication systems and carbon versions of the RPHA11, RPHA 70 and RPHA 90 models.

The HJC F70 is new to the product portfolio.

The fiberglass full-face helmet is brand new in the model range HJC F70. The latest HJC protege wants to score with a good fit, high level of comfort and a particularly wide field of vision. The new F70 is also visually different from its HJC siblings and looks a bit more aggressive. The newcomer can also be coupled with the HJC Bluetooth communication systems Smart 10 B and Smart 20 B. Apart from that, the visor of the new HJC F70 should have a particularly anti-fog and scratch-resistant coating. The inner lining is removable and can be cleaned. In terms of weight, HJC specifies 1,480 grams in size M. The prices for the F70, which will be available from December 2019, start at 299.90 euros.

The RPHA family will also be available as a carbon version from 2020.

Apart from the new F70, the HJC models RPHA11, RPHA70 and RPHA90 will each also be available as a carbon version from 2020. According to the HJC, the carbon RPHAs are not only supposed to be safer, but also to have lost weight compared to the base models. The carbon helmets should weigh about 100 grams less. In addition, all three carbon RPHAs can be retrofitted with the Smart HJC Bluetooth communication system as standard. Apart from that, the RPHA90 Carbon will also be available as an S version. The advantage of the S version is double homologation, which means that it can also be used as a jet helmet, i.e. when it is unfolded while driving. The prices: HJC RPHA11 Carbon from 529.90 euros, RPHA70 Carbon from 569.90 euros and RPHA90 S Carbon from 599.90 euros.

The Smart HJC 20 B offers a few more features compared to the 10 B, but costs almost twice as much.

In addition to the new F70 and RPHA carbon variants, HJC has also introduced a new Bluetooth communication system called Smart HJC. Two different versions are available, which differ from one another in terms of functionality and equipment. The basic version is the Smart HJC 10 B. There is also an upgraded version called the Smart HJC 20 B. In principle, both communication solutions are devices from SENA that have been tailored to HJC helmets. The 10 B offers, among other things, Bluetooth 3.0, 1-to-1 communication between two pilots with a maximum range of 400 meters, a smartphone connection and a music function. The so-called Intercom 400M headset is used as input and output device.

The 20 B offers additional functions and is also technically better equipped. Also included are, among other things, Bluetooth 4.1, an 8-way communication with which eight drivers can interact with each other within a range of up to 1.6 kilometers, an integrated FM radio, remote control and what is known as audio multitasking. Function that automatically adjusts the music volume during calls. The Intercom1600M is used as an input and output device.

Both Smart versions are currently compatible with the helmet models RPHA11 Carbon, RPHA70 Carbon, RPHA90 S Carbon, RPHA90 S, F70, I90 and V90. The Smart HJC 10 B is available from 139.90 euros. For the 20 B, HJC charges 299.90 euros.

Conclusion

In addition to lots of new designs for models that are already available, HJC has also added a completely new full-face helmet to its product portfolio with the F70. In addition, the RPHA family is now also available in a carbon version. The two new communication systems that were developed in cooperation with Sena also complement HJC’s product strategy in a meaningful way.
