Supertourer gets Android Auto connection

Honda will offer a software update for the GL 1800 Gold Wing from mid-June 2020 that will in future support the integration of a smartphone into the on-board system via Android Auto.

With the integration of Android Auto into the current Gold Wing model family, customers with Android smartphones will be able to enjoy application services such as music, phone calls and messaging with the highest level of ease of use and voice control. The new one has smartphone integration via Apple Carplay Gold Wing since the market launch in October 2017.

Android Auto is an easy and safe way to use your smartphone on your motorcycle. With a clear user interface and voice control, the app is designed in such a way that driver distraction is minimized. Android Auto makes it easy for Gold Wing owners to access their favorite music media and messaging apps. With voice control via Google Assistant and Android Auto, you can stay connected and be entertained while focusing your eyes on the road and keeping your hands on the handlebars.

With the integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in other models, Honda plans to offer customers around the world even more comfort and convenience on their motorcycle tours in the future.
