Honda recall CFR 250 L and CB 300 R

Possible transmission problem

Honda is recalling around 21,000 vehicles from both models from the CFR 250 L and CB 300 R worldwide. There may be a problem with the transmission.

On the Honda CRF 250 L and RL models as well as Honda VS.B 300 R, a gear wheel can be damaged because a locking ring on the main gear shaft can loosen from its groove. As a result, the transmission gears can be damaged. In the worst case, the drive train blocks and you could fall. So far, however, there have been no accidents.

Main gear shaft is exchanged

The recall affects around 21,000 vehicles worldwide, 1,716 vehicles are being recalled in the EU and 190 machines in Germany. The affected CRF 250 L are from the production period from June 2018 to November 2018, the affected CRF 250 RL and CB 300 R from the production window from June 2018 to December 2018. Honda is carrying out the recall under the code 3KS.

When visiting the workshop, the main transmission shaft is replaced on the affected models. Honda specifies the repair time to be around six hours.
