With its charisma and the nostalgic side on which it leans, the CB 1100 knew straight away that it was appealing … and could have been content to show off. A handful of months after its presentation and careful listening to users later, it splits into an EX version.. Some kind of additional visa in the Vintage passport.
The CB 1100 EX benefits from all the improvements of the classic version, namely a headlight raised by 25 mm, revised instrumentation with gear indicator and range indicator, and above all a 6-speed gearbox. The sixth is akin to overdrive, which lowers engine speed and lowers fuel consumption.
Where it stands out clearly is on the shoe side. This is the element that immediately struck you: the CB 1100 EX offers a pair of spoked rims. A real plus for the look, and users demanded it so much that Honda could hardly ignore these elements. The tire dimensions are identical between the two versions of the CB 1100: 110/80 – 18 for the front and 140/70 – 18 for the rear.
Point behind, watch … No, you haven’t been drinking! There are indeed two exhausts on the EX. The CB 1100 has doubled its pots here for even more style. The seat will appreciate the new saddle, thicker and more comfortable. You will notice less other differences like the passenger handle and the side covers. You will pay more attention to the autonomy of this EX. With the 6th, the consumption can drop to 5.58 l / 100 (according to standards requiring a good headache to peel them). And as the tank is more potent at 2.9 liters, this roadster should accomplish a little more than fifty terminals with its 17.5 liter body..
These changes make the CB 1100 even more interesting, but they come at a cost to the EX: 13 kilos. Well, don’t panic, the 9.3 mkg of the 4 finned cylinders will have no trouble lifting the 260 kilos of the machine.
