After having been deeply modernized in 2019, the Honda CRF 450 R will evolve again in 2020 with the adoption of the HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control) torque control system which intervenes in accordance with the starting aid system developed by the HRC and PGM-FI injection fuel system maps.
The 3 modes of the new HSTC torque control system work to minimize the loss of rear wheel grip (synonymous with loss of time) by optimizing grip and traction.
Without using a speed sensor, this system keeps all its sensitivity to the throttle while managing the power. Its effectiveness comes from a precise intervention on the ignition timing and on the injection when abnormal variations in speed are detected. The HSTC system can be completely deactivated and automatically reverts to the last selected mode when the engine is restarted.
Like the 250, the CRF 450 R is equipped with new, more efficient and durable rear brake pads and new suspension settings to increase low-speed compression damping during heavy braking..
