Hornig BMW R nineT conversion (2018)

Heritage model even more individual

Accessories provider Hornig has put a unique specimen on the wire-spoke wheels based on the BMW R nineT. In-house accessories were installed on the Heritage model.

The BMW R. nineT is a popular bike and, thanks to its uncomplicated construction, it is the perfect basis for an individual conversion. This is what the accessories supplier Hornig from Cham, Bavaria thought, and knitted the Bayern boxer in the heritage look into a real one-of-a-kind – not unselfishly, because all the attachments used come from their own range.

Even more retro for the R nineT

A 2015 BMW R nineT served as the basis for the conversion. The tank, the front fender and the new rear fender were painted in matt khaki green. The rear area has been completely redesigned and now comes without a license plate holder. It was flanged to the right of the rear wheel on the cardan housing.

Horny

Hornig has tidied up the rear of the BMW.

On the freed stern sits a leather-covered bench, the one with a gray one "nineT" Lettering was provided. Under the seat, Hornig installed new aluminum side covers with a retro number plate look. Micro indicators round off the clean rear. In order to give the R nineT a decent sound, the exhaust gases now escape via a black hexacone silencer from Remus. The retro look is intended to underline the manifold wrapped in heat protection tape and black powder-coated elements on the side of the frame and in the intake area.

Lots of black details

A new footrest system, new, adjustable levers and a new handlebar equipped with handlebar end mirrors take care of modified ergonomics. An AC Schnitzer LED headlight was also fitted into the original headlight housing, and the lamp bars were powder-coated in black.

Horny

Hornig replaces various stoppers and adds new ones.

A lot of attention was paid to details. An enlarged support plate on the side stand ensures a secure stand. There is a new lid on the tank and the driver looks at a new speedometer. Various frame and wheel axle openings now close black aluminum covers. The individual look of the R nineT is rounded off with a black oil cap. The Hornig BMW R nineT is completed with new tires. Here the choice fell on the proven Conti-studded tires TKC70, in the front in size 120/70 ZR17 and in the rear in size 180/55 ZR17.
