Scrambler with 790 twin

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 with its scrambler design is well received by customers, but many would like more performance. This is where the new 790 KTM twin for a Svartpilen 801 comes into play.

D.he KTM subsidiary Husqvarna is currently testing a Erlkonig with the new two-cylinder engine from the KTM 790. There are many indications that it could become the big Svartpilen 801 scrambler.

Scambler based on KTM Adventure

Much of the final model, which is likely to come on the market in 2020, is not yet revealed by the Erlkonig in its early stages. What is clear, however, is that the new model has the two-cylinder known from the KTM 790, which delivers between 95 and 105 hp and 86 to 88 Nm of torque in the Oranges. In the Erlkonig it sits in the chassis of the 790 Adventure, but it was probably given a different rear frame, which is supposed to provide a more casual seating position – just like a scrambler.

In the course of the traditional Husqvarna nomenclature, the new model would be classified as the 801. Nothing can currently be derived about the design of the future model. Presumably the well-known Svartpilen line is continued here.

Nuda successors are also conceivable

Since Husqvarna can be a little braver than KTM in its niches, another two-cylinder would also be conceivable. A street-oriented approach would be conceivable, which could then follow in the footsteps of the Nuda, which at that time was still designed under BMW aegis with a modified BMW twin.
