A troublemaker is entering the 125cc segment. The French company Icône intends to assert its interests by following the market trend.
The import company 1pulsion launches its own brand of 125 motorcycles! Building on the success of Mash, it is wise that “Icone Motorcycles” is launching its first 125 neo-retro style. “Icon” is the name chosen by the French company based in Sucy-en-Brie on the outskirts of Paris.. It is difficult to be more exhaustive and this is not trivial. The brand is therefore targeting the 125 cm3 cafe racer and other custom sector, which have everything “in their mouths”. Although they are already some to ride the wave, the brand arrives full of will at the foot of the rollers.
Obviously, the main argument lies in the offer. And for now, it is limited to the Icon 125 Twin, halfway between a scrambler and a custom. A motorcycle well anchored in the spirit of the times, which bordering on anachronism ensures a certain success.
Once looked more closely, we realize that we have to do with a pretty little face. Although little dressed, this mini custom is dressed respecting all the codes of the genre. The in-line twin, which will be responsible for moving the 150-kilo unit, seems rather plush. It is powered by two carburetors and claims a dozen horsepower. The fork does not seem slender and even helps to make it look tall. The same goes for the rear shock absorbers with separate and pressurized cylinders. If the effectiveness remains to be attested, it is nonetheless true that all these elements give it allure..
No information was transmitted about the place of manufacture, but given the advanced tariff, we suspect that it is not on our territory. Like Mash, the Icône brand must shop in China. The young shoot will therefore be offered at the engaging price of € 2,999 but still higher than a Mash 125 Black Seven or other Orcal; besides the ABS is not present. Something to sow some ideas in the heads of motorists in search of charisma.
From fittings to price, the 125 Twin can claim a certain commercial success, but from there to become a new icon … Time will judge. *
1Pulse? The company imports among others the PGO brand, a Taiwanese company specializing in scooters and buggies. Among his order book was also a Spanish 125 named Leonart Daytona 125, which reminds us of the Icon 125 Twin.
