Indian has recently acquired its fleet of luxury motorcycles. Like Harley-Davidson’s CVOs, the second-largest American manufacturer now has high-value-added machines, shimmering with opulence and capable of establishing a certain idea of prestige.. At Indian, this label is called Elite. The Roadmaster gentrifies this appellation at its height. For lovers of richly endowed cruise ships, there is something to be sure of. Which class ! What aplomb! And what a mass! America shows off and takes control of the great expanses.
The Roadmaster Elite takes the brand to a new level. That of the very high end. The route had already been marked with the Chieftain Limited and Elite; but here we are very clearly a cut above. Yet already imposing, the standard Roadmaster seems almost bland next to it. The superb two-tone painting plays its effect there. Each bike is hand painted, with the vintage here flaring its splendor with the ‘Wildfire Red Candy / Thunder Black Crystal’ colourway enhanced with 24k gold leaf details. The Elite does not count the time, giving 30 hours of work just for the painting.
Then, who says special series says selected pieces. The mudguards get chrome accents and the company decorative bars. The mirrors are Pinnacles type, also chrome, as are the controls on the handlebars. The driver is entitled to large badged running boards while the passenger can relax their arms on the leather armrests. A little zique to ride? The Indian Roadmaster Elite has 600 W of sound system, twice as much as the previous edition. Its PowerBand Audio Plus system features an enhanced nine-band dynamic equalizer that automatically adjusts to specific frequencies up to the optimum level on various vehicle speeds to compensate for road, wind and engine noise..
As for the engine, it’s still worth a closer look. An admirable ode to metal, brimming with style and torque, it can be combined with three driving modes to multiply the driving experience (Tour – Standard – Sport). It can also deactivate its rear cylinder automatically according to certain temperature parameters in order to protect the calorific comfort of the driver when the Roadmaster is stationary..
A block that we no longer need to present. With 1811 cm3 and 15.3 mkg (16.45 in the states), this big twin has the delicate mission of carrying one of the heaviest motorcycles in production. 430 kilos fully packed, conveyed at a deep pace. Once on board, it is easy to be seduced by the plethora of equipment from the “basic” Roadmaster: electric windshield, heated saddle and grips, cruise control, locking system and keyless start, and Ride Command to complete the staffing. With this large 17.8 cm screen, you control on-board functions, multimedia, music, phone via Bluetooth and GPS mapping.
And now, there you are. Before, you just had to pull out a huge check and crack an H-D Limited CVO or a Road Glide CVO. Now this Roadmaster Elite is part of the game, and it becomes much more difficult to choose.
