Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX (2020)

Model upgrade for the sports tourer

EICMA 2019

The Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX is getting some updates for the 2020 model year. The refreshed sports tourer was presented at the EICMA in Milan.

In addition to the two naked bikes Z 650 and Z 900 Kawasaki presented another revised model at EICMA: the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX. The Japanese are treating the fourth generation of the Ninja 1000 SX to some updates that will upgrade the sports tourer again in the 2020 model year.

Revised optics and new exhaust system

Unlike the two naked bikes mentioned above, Kawasaki has also made changes to the look of the Ninja 1000 SX. For example, the front fender has been redesigned. Another new feature is an exhaust system with just one rear silencer. This should have a positive effect on the emission values without the four-cylinder losing power. The seat was also redesigned by Kawasaki, which is said to have improved seating comfort for both the driver and the pillion passenger. The disc can be adjusted four times. Larger retrofit discs are optionally available. In addition, the Ninja 1000 SX can look forward to LED lighting elements and a new TFT color display with a screen diagonal of 10.9 centimeters in the 2020 model year.

Kawasaki

The Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX will be launched in 2020 with some innovations.

Apart from that, Kawasaki is equipping the new sports tourer in the 2020 model year with four different driving modes, a quickshifter including blipper function and cruise control. For the tires, the Japanese manufacturer decided on the Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22. The new Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX is available in the colors "Metallic graphite gray / Metallic diablo black", "Emeral blazed green / Metallic carbon gray / Metallic graphite gray" and "Pearl blizzard white / Metallic carbon gray / Metallic spark black". Kawasaki has not yet revealed how much the new SX should cost and when it will be available from us.

Conclusion

The Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX has been meaningfully upgraded in some places for the coming year. The new features such as the cruise control or the revised seat should have a positive effect, especially on longer journeys.
