After the H2, here is the SX. Kawasaki had warned that its supercharging technology would not be limited to a sultry sports car. The second chapter takes the form of a Sport-GT under high pressure. A confusing machine, very powerful, able to pressurize the road for its crew.

France only sees the SE version, more richly equipped and more prominent in its territory, enter its regions. But why not have issued a visa to the standard H2 SX ? !?

Because the H2 SX SE, it slams! It shakes, it calls out, it establishes its difference, it shows the watts, the bow and the long journeys. The SX is more discreet. Too surely for a machine of this conviction. All dressed in black, this Kawasaki plays in the stealth. This does not prevent him from keeping this bestial side, this desire to “ice-break” speed. But something’s wrong … the hatches. Kawasaki has equipped the SE version with adaptive curved lights, implanted massively in the sides of the fairing. The std does not have it; and as the manufacturer does not offer him specific panels, it was necessary to fill the spaces with caches. Hence a motorcycle appearance exfoliated from these attributes.

By discovering the cockpit of the H2 SX, we say to ourselves “owl, the cockpit of the H2”. As long as we stay there, no problem. But if he did tell you to ogle the one from the SE, the sauce will change flavor. Because it will be a much richer and more colorful dashboard with a beautiful TFT screen. Hard to go back to more simplistic liquid crystals after that.

This of course remains a matter of taste. Many appreciate the efficiency and spirit of a machine over a more or less alluring dress. But … a motorcycle often shares the pride of men. This bit of philosophy sown, let’s see the rest of the differences between the H2 SX and the H2 SX SE:
There is less (or more for the other) a central stand, a high screen, the up & down shifter, the standing start assistant, a 12V socket, heated grips, protections for the tank and the location knees, braided brake hoses, and a small piping on the rims. And, as developed before, the directional lights and the active matrix instrument panel.

Kawasaki NINJA H2 SX 2018Don’t assume that the H2 SX is under-equipped; it is rather the SE which is over-equipped. With cruise control, ABS, the large panoply of electronic aids (traction control, engine braking, cornering braking, Riding Modes, anti-wheeling, etc.), full LED lighting and fully adjustable suspensions , they have enough to feed the user manual.
Then comes a main course: its engine, significantly revised since the sporty H2. A lot of groundwork has reduced its weight and made it more available in low and mid-range. Valiant, fiery, this 4-cylinder turbine-powered engine still delivers 200 horsepower with a massive 14 mkg of torque. Optimization made it less fuel-efficient; not in character.
With its reinforced frame, its equipment, Brembo radial brakes, a single-arm anchoring the magnificent rear rim, its ability to take pilot, passenger and luggage in a road dimension is seen in accelerated. With weight, of course, like any motorcycle in this category. ZZR, CBR XX, VFR 1200 or Hayabusa have never been ballerinas.

An ode to the swirling speed of tourism. Not quite. The Kawasaki H2 SX plays more on the emotional side of formidable acceleration, propelled in a breath that naturally aspirated engines cannot offer. In other countries, it is found for a price of about 15% cheaper than the SE. But will you really watch the price difference comparing these two furious? ?
