Kawasaki Versys 1000 S-SE: all-rounder revised

New Kawasaki Versys 1000 S and SE

Revised crossover tourer for 2021

For the 2021 model year, Kawasaki is redesigning its Versys 1000 crossover tourer. The S version is the new base model, while the SE comes up with a new electronically controlled chassis.

The entry into the world of the Kawasaki VAs of model year 2021, the ersys 1000 forms the Kawasaki Versys 1000 S. The variant without an S is no longer applicable. The Versys 1000 SE, set as the top model, will get a revised KECS (Kawasaki Electronic Control Suspension) chassis for model year 2021. Thanks to the first use of Skyhook technology from Showa at Kawasaki, the new suspension should offer a more comfortable driving experience and even more driving pleasure. The new Versys 1000 S, which will replace the standard model in Germany in model year 2021, has all the features of the Versys 1000 SE with the exception of KECS.

Optimized damping adjustment

The updated software for the semi-active KECS system of the Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE includes Skyhook EERA technology (Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment) and thus ensures even more stable driving behavior (the components and the response behavior of the suspension remain unchanged compared to the standard KECS). The Skyhook concept can be thought of as a hook that carries the sprung masses of the motorcycle and adjusts the damping force of the suspension so that the wheels react optimally to bumps and the upright position of the motorcycle is maintained while minimizing the effects of interference. The basic damping level is determined as usual according to the selected driving mode and the spring preload on the rear wheel can still be adjusted.

New colors for the 2021 model year

The Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE is available for the 2021 model year in the color combinations Emerald Blazed Green (green) / Metallic Diablo Black (black) / Metallic Flat Spark Black (black) and Emerald Storm Gray (gray) / Metallic Diablo Black (black ) / Metallic Flat Spark Black (Black).

Kawasaki

For the Kawasaki Versys 1000 S, the Japanese keep the color variants Emerald Blazed Green (green) / Metallic Diablo Black (black) / Metallic Flat Spark Black (black) and Emerald Storm Gray (gray) / Metallic Diablo Black (black) / Metallic Flat Spark Black ready.

Kawasaki has not yet revealed when the new models will hit dealerships. The prices start from 14,227 euros for the S version, the SE costs from 16,176 euros. Both can be ordered immediately.

Conclusion

The model year update of the Versys 1000 is slim for 2021. The base model is no longer available, but there are new colors and an improved electronic chassis for the top model.
