The ER-6 is becoming a big family … and as Kawasaki seems decided for 2 years to wow us, they left this excellent base to prepare us one of their house cocktail. based on “tention the eyes”, “it will shake serious”, and a little “z’ont blew a lead”. This beverage is the new VERSYS.
A trail? A roadster? A supermoto? A bit of a mix of 3. Wait, you think it’s limited to that …!?! But look carefully at this bubbling little machine that is about to kick in the middle of the FMX, XT-X, Multistrada, V-Strom, Transalp, Pegaso, and so on. From the front, it’s a cyborg landed from Dragon Ball. On the side, we find the structure of the ER-6n with a lot of improvements. Long travel, multi-adjustable inverted fork (it smells like full nose driving), banana-type swing arm on the right and well reinforced on the left, modified radiator scoops, trellis connecting the rear frame to the central plates to accommodate the footrests passenger (it gives a certain very nice cachet), more prominent engine spoiler … Add to that new shoulders creating an original fork crown, an adjustable screen, a new dashboard and a 2-part saddle. Very interesting and rather successful as a machine.
Like the ER-6, the VERSYS is powered by a 650 cm3 parallel twin. A very good little mechanic full of punch, of which we unfortunately do not yet know the power promised for this bike. But we have learned that the profile of the camshafts has been softened, that the injection has been revised and we can note the presence of a balancing tube joining the exhaust pipes – all this in order to offer more consistency at all speeds and especially enhanced sensations between 3 and 6,000 rpm. The road behavior promises to be exemplary and generous in sensations. We even wonder at MP if the development team didn’t work with Kelly Slater; because the Kawasaki VERSYS was born to “domesticate the road, but also to draw intense satisfaction from it.

Between the mimines and under the eyes, the dashboard differs from that of the ER-6: wiser, with a simple design but generous in information. The white background of the tachometer adds a sporty note to it, while the red zone points to its alert 500 trs earlier. Safety-conscious people will be happy to learn that petal discs can be reinforced with ABS..
Kawa’s words are inspiring, and seeing as the brand has been putting fun into its creations for some time, we say to ourselves that we will certainly not be disappointed..
