Kawasaki Z 900 RS by MRS Oficina 2019


The Kawasaki Z 900 RS is radically transformed into a very successful tapered cafe-racer. The MRS Oficina preparation workshop and Kawasaki France have come together for the third time to create the Z 900 RS by MRS: the vintage model that looks like Z1 is transformed into a unique cafra.

After a 650 Vulcan S transformed into a Cafe Racer two years ago, and the famous Z 650 roadster in a remarkable Flat Track style preparation in 2017, MRS is now back on the front of the stage by presenting us a project on the base of the Z 900 RS.

Creativity, sportiness, elegance and attention to detail are the hallmarks of this new preparation. A sumptuous result made possible thanks to an entirely handmade craftsmanship, pieces made with precision, and a deep passion of the author for his work..

Only high-tech materials such as titanium, carbon and aluminum were used to make this Cafe Racer, with a paint that takes up the famous colors of yesteryear. Only the front of the frame is original, the rear has been reworked in order to be able to support the upturned leather saddle and the double Ohlins shocks with separate cartridge. The aluminum swingarm has been redesigned to secure the shock and create a small location for the battery, nicely held in place by a leather strap.

Kawasaki Z 900 RS by MRS Oficina 2019 With the exception of the Beringer brake and clutch controls, the front fork, the stems and the brakes are completely original. The driving position is very sporty thanks to Renthal straps and Borani Racing rearsets. The five-spoke Rotobox carbon rims allow a weight reduction of around 10 kg, while the titanium exhaust line has been made with an in-house silencer and a manifold from the Japanese accessory maker K-Factory. A line that allows all the same to remove 3 kg on the scale.

MRS Oficina explains: “When the Z900RS was unveiled in 2017 at the Motorcycle Show in Milan, I immediately wanted to make a preparation from this base. I really liked the original model, and even if I didn’t know if I was going to be called upon for a new project, I instinctively imagined the result I could achieve.Finally, Kawasaki France once again trusted me to achieve this third collaboration.

The Kawasaki Z 900 RS makes reference to the legendary Z1 of the 70s and I am very happy to be able to add my personal touch. I tried to keep a lot of the original parts such as the headlight, fork and dashboard, so there was a lot of work to match between the modifications and the original parts, and I hope the end result will please the public “.

This preparation was entirely carried out in 6 months, a very short time taking into account the workload; and the result is final. The Z900RS by MRS was presented at the Mondial de la Moto in Paris – Porte de Versailles, and will now begin its tour with a first stop at the Milan Motor Show in early November.
