The latest ZX-636 R is intended to be more exclusive than its predecessor. Some improvements on the finish finally demonstrate an evolution at the brand which was hitherto behind the competition (rear light with diodes, digital dashboard, etc …). The sportiness of the machine is felt from its grip. A radical driving position, the hands now come to look for the bracelets under the triple tree, the seat becomes higher and the suspensions do not forgive the faults of the road. All this contrasts with his ancestor who had good driving skills. The ZX-636 R is brutal and loses its ease. The engine is quite hollow at low revs and the thrust is not felt until after 8000 revs. Certain mechanical modifications have been revised such as the injection as well as the ignition cut-off which now occurs at 16,000 rpm. The hunt for extra pounds results in the loss of 11 kg. It is also the only 600 equipped with an inverted fork and radially fixed brake calipers. Today, the ZX-636 R totally loses its versatility. The aesthetic is shocking, but it has the merit of standing out. kawa seems to have rediscovered the resentment that made the reputation of its sporty and uncompromising models.
