Kawasaki ZX-6RR 600 2005

The Greens are the first to present their new tracker in the Supersport category for 2005. The ZX-6R has undergone major revamps both aesthetically and mechanically. As her big sister 10-R won the 2004 Masterbike – the little one had to defend the newfound family honor even more.
The particular design of the previous 6-R has evolved into more softness and elegance. Contoured for better aerodynamic efficiency, the fairing visually refines the bike, the shoe extending under the footrest plates, closely touching the rear tire; as on a Ducati 999. The headlights are more tapered, giving it a more sympathetic look, the forced air intake is also slightly redesigned, the indicators are integrated, the tank revised and the rear part copied on the 1000. Thus , we find the very pleasant posterior of the 10-R with the bonus of an exhaust under the saddle. kawasaki got started like everyone else and it allows the eye to revel in the new swingarm worthy of a MotoGP machine. the 636 differs from the RR by its black painted shoe, its larger rear brake disc, and no doubt by small details that Kawa should soon communicate.
As for the engine, everything has also changed quite a bit. A new feed with 2 injectors per cylinder comes to feed a mill which benefits from new pistons, cylinders, cylinder head and camshafts. Note also larger exhaust valves, a reinforced and rebalanced crankshaft, a revised oil pump, an improved gearbox and ultimately a marked increase in power..
To cope with all this, the chassis does not just endorse the black paint that befits competition machines so well. In addition to the new particularly strong swingarm, the frame has seen its modified aluminum structure and the chassis has a shorter wheelbase. The pilot’s position has been significantly revised to bring the pilot closer to the steering. And for more liveliness, new rims (certainly lighter) as well as petal brake discs.
Undoubtedly more beautiful than its predecessor and certainly more efficient, the ZX-6R version 2005 intends to continue on the path traced by the surprising ZX-10R: to restore its letters of nobility to Kawasaki on the altar of sport..

On this Wednesday, October 20, we have just learned the official figures communicated by Kawasaki. Let’s start with the most impressive: the 636 Ninja is released 130 nags at 14,000 rpm. A truly impressive figure for a 600 sport. In dynamics, force-fed by the forced air intake, the block would develop no less than 136 horses. The torque increases to 7.2 mkg at a speed increased by 500 trs or 11,500 rev / min. The RR version, with a more modest but above all more regulatory cubic capacity, delivers 123 horsepower, and 6 more in dynamics. Surprisingly, the little green didn’t gain any weight; rather the reverse because it now displays 164 kgs. 3 more than the old one but it is still very light.

KAWASAKI 600 ZX-6RRDo you remember the first 636, the one that happened in 2002? One of the best 600 sports, and one of the very few that had not fallen into exclusivity. Very efficient but also pleasant and comfortable, far from the radicalism which is the basis of any current sportswoman.
Well, the new ZX-6R 636, it tries to recover a little of that spirit, of this notion of user-friendliness. If this can be guessed by its softer, more fluid but still muscular lines, a grip confirms this friendliness. A high but accessible saddle and more cozy than usual, a sporty but less exclusive riding position, firm and rigorous suspensions which do the maximum to spare you – The Ninja is even more thirsty for chrono but she now takes care of pleasing her pilot both on and off the circuit. A good effort that the engine has also been able to develop.

This block, the only one in the category to exceed 600 cc (there is the RR for competition), remains faithful to Kawa traditions. Supple and pleasant, it responds from low revs, in part thanks to the valve housed in the exhaust. Of course, it is not the monstrous trunk of a ZX-10R but it is very appreciable when one walks without looking for the arsenal or if one negotiates a tight turn with the tachometer drowned in the low. The dashboard has still not changed. It’s high-tech, stylish, complete … whatever you want but to read the engine speed, hang in there. And even more when you push the boiler beyond the 10,000 rpm mark. The ZX-6R takes a deep breath up to 12,000 trs and then unleashes hostilities. The 4-cylinder then meows furiously while it gets rough. No more laughing, the mill becomes mean and balances its 130 hp for the best without the worst. It is then up to the pilot to demonstrate his know-how and he will only have to worry about that. The softness of the controls and the box have already given him a smile; the ease of handling and the efficiency of the front axle were responsible for giving it confidence; The anti-dribble in the clutch, the remarkable braking and the overall stability allow it to let go between the vibrators. Perhaps the brakes would benefit from being a little more progressive, but for the moment, the mill is going to attack the 16,000 rpm. A very good extension and performance to the key.

Not far from flawless for the new ZX-6R. For road use, we can blame it for its too low screen or the lack of storage under the saddle. For everything else, this development boils down to one word: improvement. Efficient, remarkably well balanced, more welcoming, more elegant, the 600 Ninja could well become the scarecrow of the category..
