Kawasaki KX 250 F 2014

Menus

For the KX 250 F 2014, the big news is the addition of “Launch Control”, a function that has become a real Must Have in the MX2 paddocks. Known as being an essential element of the KX 450 F to make the Holeshot, the addition of this aid at the start on the KX 250 F, whose activation is ideally located on the handlebars, is already essential to consider the new MX season.

Other new features for the KX 250 F include revised front engine mounts (for better front wheel grip), new grips, modified gear selector and barrel, revised SFF fork settings as well as a new Uni-Track rear suspension adjustment.

What emerges from this machine is the enormous power as well as its traction capacity due to the double injectors and the very straight intake duct associated with the possibility of changing the engine maps on demand thanks to the DFI plugs provided. The available maps are Standard, Hard, and Soft.

Progressive throttle linkage

The 43mm injection body uses progressive throttle linkage to deliver air very similar to an FCR carburetor. Thanks to two interconnected axes, the injection body opens more quickly beyond the 3/8 open position, thus improving the engine response and providing a better appreciation of the power..

Double injection

The internationally recognized double injection system of the KX 250 F allows a more direct supply and improved performance by increasing engine performance in high revs.

High performance piston

The high performance piston, like those used on our factory motorcycles, helps improve performance at all revs. The forged piston is made lighter and more resistant by the use, on a production motorcycle, of a short skirt, external ribs and Bridged-box type reinforcements

Pilot-Machine Interface

The slim frame, minimalist trim, lowering of the tank-saddle line and handles offer a narrower riding position as well as optimal ergonomics to allow riders to go faster more easily.

High performance engine with factory motorcycle look

Prepared for the most experienced riders, the 249cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke single cylinder engine offers a wide range of use and high performance.

Ease of engine adjustments: Direct injection parameters

The original settings of the three maps are: Standard, Hard, and Soft. Using the supplied DFI plugs, the pilot can easily switch from one map to another to adapt the settings to the driving conditions.

KX FI injection calibration “Factory” assembly (optional)

The KX FI injection calibration set is identical to that used by official Kawasaki Teams in Europe and the USA. It allows experienced pilots to adjust the engine settings to their preferences (by modifying the original mapping), but also to record the driving data and then analyze it to better refine the settings..

Frame cut for racing with a factory look

The aluminum perimeter frame is super-light in design and made up of forged, extruded and cast iron elements. Revised stiffness allows for a lighter grip and improves traction while the slimmer design contributes to the overall ergonomics of the machine.

Uni-trak rear suspension

The balance system is mounted under the swingarm for more precise suspension adjustment. Dual compression adjustment offers a wide range of optional adjustments. Kashima surface treatment of the cartridge improves operation.

Competition braking system

Front and rear petal brake discs are combined with a new master cylinder and new pads for better performance and better brake control.

A front fork ready for competition

A “Super-hard” titanium surface treatment on the lower fork tubes combined with the internal treatment of the sleeves reduce friction and improve the response of the SFF type 2 for better driving sensations..

A “Factory” style

A “Factory” style design, black aluminum rims, black fork guards, a blue aluminum finish on the suspension settings and blue finish details on the engine give the KX 250 F the look of a machine built for the performance.

SFF Type 2 Fork

The KX 250 F is the first production motocross to be equipped with the SFF Type 2 fork. Thicker tubes and a new organization of internals provide unmatched damping and stability performance when braking or landing of jumps.
