With its huge, very enveloping mudguards, this machine stands out from the current production. We also appreciate that the bike is available in nice red or beige colors. For such a tight price and an engine cubing less than a liter, one could fear that the engine would turn pale in the face of the big 1500 Drifter. Nay! It is a very happy surprise to note that the small twin, which comes out only 7 hp less, shows flexibility, joie de vivre, and performance. The big 1500 would almost take a dim view. The very pleasant saddle and the remarkable work of the rear damping make the Drifter very comfortable for a machine of this category. Too bad that the ground clearance shows its limits too quickly and that the single front brake disc is sometimes limited.
