KTM is further expanding its Adventure model range and will be launching the two models KTM 1090 Adventure and KTM 1290 Super Adventure in a total of five versions in the coming year.

Who is in the coming year a KTM 1290 Super Adventure can choose between three model variants that KTM presented at INTERMOT 2016 in Cologne. You can choose from KTM 1290 Super Adventure S, KTM 1290 Super Adventure R and KTM 1290 Super Adventure T. The variant with the suffix "T" corresponds to the currently available Super Adventure, but is homologated for Euro4.

KTM equips the "R" and "S" versions with a few extras compared to the basic "T" version. The 1301 cm³, 160 hp V2 engine from the KTM 1290 Super Duke R is used in both. The assistance packages with stability control (MSC), traction control (MTC), a new cruise control system and the Race-on-System (ignition key only has to be carried with you) make the "R" and the "S".

Although both bikes are suitable for off-road use, the R version with 21 or 18-inch wheels is much more suitable for a trip away from the asphalt. Accordingly, the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S is designed more for the road in terms of setup and 19/17-inch wheels.

Both models are equipped with new LED headlights with electronically controlled LED cornering lights. In addition, KTM has given both Super Adventures a 6.5-inch TFT display and cornering ABS.

KTM is pursuing a similar strategy with the two models, the KTM 1090 Adventure and KTM 1090 Adventure R. Both models have multi-level ABS, traction control and four driving modes. As with the 1290 sister models, the “R” variant is more clearly designed for off-road excursions; it stands on 21 and 18 inch wheels, whereas the standard 1090 Adventure relies on 19 and 17 inch wheels. Another distinguishing feature: the KTM 1090 Adventure has a windshield, its R sister does not.

Both bikes are powered by a 1050 cc V2 engine that should produce 125 hp. The KTM 1090 Adventure is also available as a 48-horsepower motorcycle, which all A2 license holders should be happy about. KTM has not yet commented on the prices.
