Row twin in enduro outfit
An enduro prototype with an in-line twin cylinder was on display at the KTM stand at EICMA 2017. Working title: KTM 790 Adventure R. At EICMA 2018, KTM has now unveiled the production version.

KTM has added an in-line twin-cylinder to its range and presented it ready for series production in the Naked Bike 790 Duke. Unsurprisingly, more models are planned with this 100-horsepower 800-cubic twin. The prototype of an enduro, which was shown at the EICMA 2017 in Milan, already gave a first glimpse of the near future.
R version with more travel
At EICMA 2018, the Austrians now have the KTM models 790 Adventure and KTM 790 Adventure R for the 2019 model year. Both should set new standards in terms of performance and off-road suitability in the mid-range travel enduro segment.
The LC8c in-line 2-cylinder with 799 cm³ has been retuned for use in the Adventure models in order to deliver a lot of torque in the lower speed range. KTM speaks of 95 hp and 88 Nm torque.
The one on both sides of the KTM 790 Adventure The R tank, which is pulled down far, should ensure a low center of gravity and at the same time allow the driver as much freedom of movement as possible, following the rally model. The volume is given as 20 liters. The normal Adventure uses a 43 USD fork and a WP shock absorber with 200 mm travel each. The R version has a 48 fork and a PSD strut. Here, the front and rear suspension travel climbs to 240 mm. The ground clearance is 233 and 263 mm, respectively. The seat height also varies between 830 and 880 mm. The dry weight should be 189 kilograms in both cases.

The price for the new Adventure is 12,399 euros for the basic version, the R version is 1,000 euros more.
