Building on the new 890, KTM is now rolling an Adventure R into its model range, which is also available in a more stringent rally version.

KTM is expanding its range of travel enduros with two new models. Tea KTM 890 Adventure R and its sister 890 Adventure R Rally are not aimed at softies, but people who like to let it rip off-road.

The heart of the two new models is the well-known 890 in-line twin-cylinder with 105 hp and 100 Nm torque. For the chassis, the 890s rely on fully adjustable WP XPLOR suspension elements with 240 millimeters of suspension travel on both axles, and the rally version even in the Pro version with 270 millimeters of suspension travel. The six-speed gearbox has been optimized for faster gear changes, and ABS and traction control have been retuned. The steering head tube is now made of aluminum, the screwed-on rear frame has been redone. The standard equipment includes cruise control and a 5-inch TFT display in the cockpit.

The rally variant also shines with a 35 percent lighter Akrapovic exhaust, specially tuned electronics, a standard Quickshifter, a higher seat (910 to 880 mm seat height), reinforced rims with tubular tires, carbon protectors on the tank, coarser notches and an independent one decor.

Only 700 copies of the rally, which can be pre-ordered now, will be issued worldwide, with 200 going to the US market, 500 remaining reserved for Europe. The KTM 890 Adventure R Rally will go to its first customers at the end of November; customers will have to wait for the normal Adventure R until the end of February 2021.
