Harley-Davidson electric scooter

City speedster patented

US motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson has an electric scooter for the city protected by the European Patent Office.

In February 2019 Harley-Davidson presented its great future roadmap. This also included various electrical concepts for the city. Among other things, a small e-scooter. Patent drawings of this have now emerged, which are supposed to legally protect the electrical concept in Europe.

Like a BMX bike

The patent drawings remain close to the first studies that Harley had published at the time. You can see a single-seater that looks like a more massive BMX bike. A tubular steel frame with a horizontal top tube accommodates the driver’s seat. The unit consisting of the electric motor and battery pack sits in the forked beam between the running boards. A toothed belt is responsible for the rear-wheel drive. A USD fork guides and springs in front. A cranked tubular handlebar sits on the upper fork bridge. A round LED light in front of the fork, an LED rear light under the saddle. In the old Harley rigid frame tradition, the hindquarters seem to be unsprung. When it comes to brakes, the electric scooter uses hydraulically controlled disc brakes on both wire-spoke wheels.

Information on the electric drive was not given. The electric scooter could possibly come this year.
