The scooter family is growing

The Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Honda is expanding its successful Forza family of scooters. The new flagship is a Forza 750 with 59 hp two-cylinder and DCT.

HWith the new Forza 750, onda is entering the large scooter segment with a completely new model. The big scooter should combine sporty driving performance with comfort and luxury. With the large Forza, the Integra, which was previously allowed to play in this segment, is no longer available.

59 hp two-cylinder with DCT

A long-stroke, long-stroke 745 cc two-cylinder engine with eight-valve technology and an in-line arrangement ensures driving dynamics. A 48 hp throttle variant is available for A2 pilots. Throttle By Wire enables three selectable driving modes (Rain, Standard, Sport), the three-stage traction control (HSTC) ensures traction safety. A user mode also allows individual settings, the traction control can be switched off completely.

The twin sits embedded in a tubular steel frame, the rear swing arm is based on aluminum with a Pro-Link suspension strut linkage. The final drive is uncharacteristically powered by a chain. Gear changes are handled by the well-known DCT dual clutch transmission with six speed levels. It offers an automatic mode, alternatively the gear steps can also be stepped through manually using the rocker switch. With a standard consumption of 3.9 liters, the Forza 750 with its 14.1 liter tank should travel around 370 kilometers.

Chassis with motorcycle qualities

The 17-inch front wheel, which is guided by a 41 USD fork, in combination with a 15-inch rear wheel ensures safe handling. The radially mounted four-piston brake calipers on the 310 double disc brake system ensure a decent braking performance. ABS is of course also on board. The ready-to-drive Forza 750, which weighs 235 kilograms, maintains road contact with tires measuring 120/70 R17 at the front and 160/60 R15 at the rear. Honda does not mention any performance data except for the 3.9-second sprint to 50 km / h.

The fairing of the Forza 750 should provide ample wind protection at high speeds, plenty of legroom and a low seat height (790 mm). Honda has allocated space for a full-face helmet and a USB charging station to the 21 liter storage space under the seat. There is also a glove compartment in the panel. The driver can pair his smartphone with the Forza via the 5-inch TFT display with integrated Honda Smartphone Voice Control System. The voice control can also be operated using buttons on the left switch unit. Ignition, locking and seat opening are carried out via a smart key. Honda relies entirely on LED technology for the lighting of the Forza 750, the indicators have an emergency stop function. If the on-board electronics register an extreme delay, the hazard warning lights switch on.

Accessories suitable for touring

The new 2021 Forza 750 will be available in Jeans Blue Metallic, Candy Chromosphere Red, Matt Beta Silver Metallic and Graphite Black. Honda has not yet announced prices. An extensive range of accessories is already being advertised for this. The Forza 750 can be upgraded with heated grips, various leg guards, a luggage rack, various topcase variants (up to 50 liters) and side cases (26 liters on the right, 33 liters on the left) for an additional charge.

Conclusion

With the new Forza 750, Honda is really going for it. There is a lot of motorcycle in the large scooter, which speaks for plenty of driving dynamics. Nevertheless, the typical large scooter qualities are not neglected. now one can only look forward to the price.
