Between two test sessions in Sepang, most of the MotoGP riders made it to the superb track at Phillip Island in Australia. While waiting for the press releases to fall, here are already the times made during the three nights…

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, while we were all sleeping peacefully, the Intercontinental Circus pilots chained the laps on the fast track of Phillip Island (read).

While the comments of the pilots are slow to arrive – the circuit is still 17,000 km away from France and above all, the difference is 10 hours … -, Site provides you with the lap times achieved by the handlebar pros.

Let us already note the abandonment during the second day of John Hopkins, victim of a violent highside at the exit of Doohan Corner, while the track was wet … "My times were starting to go down, one second per lap, but I got trapped in the first corner trying to set a faster time."said the Kawasaki rider yesterday.

"I opened the throttle a little too early on exiting the corner, lost the rear and the bike threw me over it. I must have found myself horizontal in the air because I fell flat on my side", remembers the n ° 21. A hard landing which earned him a stretch"50% of my abductor muscle", points out Hopper, unfortunately familiar with winter injuries….

Already last year, the Anglo-American had not been able to complete his preseason normally, victim of another highside at high speed. It was in Qatar that time, and his injuries – notably broken right hand – had prevented him from participating in the official Jerez tests (read).

"John is a badass", Michael Bartholemy, manager of Team Kawa, delivered on Thursday,"and I’m sure that with the help of Doctor Ting (an eminent American scholar), he will be back for the IRTA trials in Jerez in February".

Let us therefore wish the sympathetic Hopkins a speedy recovery and make an appointment Monday for a report – complete this time – of these Australian tests, dominated high the glove by Casey Stoner … Who else ?
