British team Ilmor has just announced its temporary withdrawal from MotoGP competition. The field will therefore be reduced to less than 20 motorcycles for the next Grand Prix which will be contested in a week in Jerez..
The Ilmor team has just announced that it is temporarily withdrawing from the competition due to a lack of sponsor. But his team manager Mario Ilien does not give up and promises that the X3 will continue to evolve on the sidelines of the championship…
"Obviously, this decision was very hard to make", regrets the manager of the small British team who still benefited from the support of Michelin, Akrapovic, Renthal, Regina and NGK.
"But after considering all the possibilities, we realized that our best solution was to put racing aside for a while and continue our development.", explains former engine manufacturer Maclaren Mercedes.
"We have important meetings in the coming weeks to decide the future of our team and our project", specifies Mario, determined to"explore all imaginable avenues".
