Suzuki Katana "Brand New Jack"

Custom bike from Icon

Accessory and clothing specialist Icon has grabbed a Suzuki Katana from the 2020 model year and used it for the "Brand New Jack" made.

When it comes to brand new models, Suzuki hasn’t done a lot lately, but there is still a lot of potential in the motorcycles of the traditional Japanese brand. In particular, the new Suzuki Katana, which is based on the GSX-S 1000, seems to inspire the creativity of various custom forges. The accessory and clothing manufacturer Icon in particular seems to have taken a liking to the katana. After a first VS.ustom-Bike based on the Katana was created, Icon is now adding one more step and putting a sporty version of the Katana on the wheels. By the way, Suzuki also officially presented new colors for the Katana recently – the Katana will also be available in red and gray in the future.

Noble components and white paint

Due to the white based paint and the other colorfully painted components, the Katana looks sportier than the basic model at first glance. In addition, Icon donated a few other noble components to the Suzi, which are said to have reduced the weight by a little more than eleven kilograms. Technically, that’s based on the name "Brand New Jack" baptized bike on the current Katana of the 2020 model year. Some of the original components were of course replaced with new ones.

Icon’s custom katana was put on the wheels within 30 days.

New are spring elements from Nitron, which were originally used on the Kawasaki ZX-10R (model year 2017), 17-inch wheels from Galespeed, tires from Avon, a new handlebar from Driven Racing, clutch and brake levers from Magura and a Exhaust system from Leo Vince. Major adjustments were made to the tank in order to install a double quick tank cap system, which is normally used in endurance racing. The renovation work is said to have taken a total of 30 days, which, according to Icon, was a very short period of time. The accessories and clothing manufacturer normally takes between 12 and 18 months to carry out conversions. However, Icon does not reveal how much money was invested in the renovation.

Conclusion

The Suzuki Katana, which Icon has put on the wheels, knows how to draw attention to itself. The newly installed components also raise the Katana technically to a higher level and, as a nice side effect, reduce the weight of the bike by more than ten kilos.
