MotoGP – Moto 2 race in Sepang: Rabat wins the sprint –

Industrial Moto LLC Project CIS & Project Angel

Honda Grom with sidecar

The Honda Grom, the sister model to the Honda MSX 125, enjoys cult status in the USA. The minibike becomes even more iconic in the version of the US customizer Industrial Moto, which forms a team from the Grom. With the Project Angel, a second variant has now been put on the wheels.

D.he little Honda Grom has already served as a basis for many customizers – for scramblers, naked bikes, fully faired racing machines. So far, however, nobody has built a team based on the 125cc. Until now.

GUS is what Industrial Moto from Virginia calls its conversion, with GUS simply standing for Grom Utility Sidecar. A mini motorcycle with a sidecar for transporting loads. The US boys are therefore pursuing a very useful approach with their creation.

Sidecar kit for $ 1,600

The sidecar for the Grom is built on a steel mesh tube, which with its composite virtually forms a basket with a reinforced wire mesh base. The flanged sidecar wheel is sprung. The sidecar is docked to the Grom chassis using the original attachment points with just a few cross struts. The basic equipment includes two additional LED lights at the front as well as a luggage net and fastening clamps. A passenger seat, a handle or a storage box can be ordered as an option. The complete self-assembly sidecar kit costs $ 1,600. The color of the powder coating can be chosen freely.

Of course, more work was done on the presentation bike. All cladding parts were foiled with a diamond pattern, the seat bench was quilted in a diamond pattern to match. The series headlight had to give way to a round LED headlight. The direction indicators were replaced by handlebar end indicators and the rear was shortened. The 125 four-stroke single is allowed to exhale freely through a new silencer.

New variant Project Angel

The conversion of Industrial Moto doesn’t just seem to inspire us. On the initiative of a Youtuber from Texas, another Grom including a sidecar has now been put on its wheels. The so-called project angel was not just created out of jerks and whims. The Texan has a younger brother named Nick, who has Angelman syndrome, a neurogenic disease. Nevertheless, the MotoVlogger tries to let his brother take part in all sorts of activities. Since Nick cannot sit on the pillion, the idea arose to build a sidecar specially developed for the Honda Grom so that the young man could ride on a motorcycle.

Industrial Motorcycle.

The renovation is said to have taken almost two months.

Industrial Moto made the construction possible with the help of its fan base and some donations. A special focus was on the security aspect. In order to tailor the sidecar as optimally as possible to Nick’s needs, several children from the company’s hometown were involved in the project. It should take two months for the conversion to find its way back to Texas. If you want to convince yourself of the success of the project, we recommend the following video:
