24H Moto: SRC Kawasaki leads free practice
The No. 11 Kawasaki of the SRC team, winner of the last three editions of the 24H Moto du Mans (2012, 2011 and 2010), beat the No. 94 Yamaha France GMT and the No. 1 SERT Suzuki in free practice. Riding the ZX-10R n ° 11, Gregory Leblanc won with 0.357 seconds (1’38.183) on the R1 n ° 94 of David Checa (1’38.540).
The Kawasaki n ° 11 of the SRC team, winner of the last three editions of the 24H Moto du Mans (, and), beat the Yamaha France GMT n ° 94 and the Suzuki n ° 1 of the SERT during free practice. Riding the ZX-10R n ° 11, Gregory Leblanc won with 0.357 seconds (1’38.183) on the R1 n ° 94 of David Checa (1’38.540).
The two men are closely followed by the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (who must do without Anthony Delhalle, injured and) in 1’38.704 and by the Monster Energy Yamaha YART who has just recruited the American Josh Hayes (1 ‘ 39.118).
Four leaders in the same second
These four official teams are in the same second and are just ahead of the private Honda of National Motos (1’39.681) and the BMW Motorrad France Team Thevent (1’39.690), which is still looking for the best rider association: Sebastien Gimbert and Sylvain Barrier are confirmed, but the place of third driver will be decided after the qualifiers between the American Jake Zemke and the Australian Josh Waters.
Then we find the Suzuki of Team R2CL (with in particular the legend of the TT) in 1’39.711, the Kawasaki n ° 8 of the Bolliger Team Switzerland (1’40.031), the Honda n ° 77 TT Legends (1’40.224) and the Suzuki n ° 72 of the Junior Team LMS (1’40.558), first Superstock bike ahead of the Yamaha DG Sport Herock (1’40.571).
The first qualifying sessions have just started at Le Mans. The teams must line up the most homogeneous crew to get the best place on the starting grid on Saturday, since the qualifying hierarchy is the average of the best times of the three titular drivers. 60 crews line up in qualifying, but only 56 places are open at the start.
