The official S1000RR of the BMW Motorrad France 99 team, leading the world endurance championship, stunned the competition from the first qualifying practice of the 24H Moto: Erwan Nigon broke the qualifying time record by completing a lap in 1 ‘ 36,950 !

With Sebastien Gimbert in 1’37.519 and Damian Cudlin in 1’38.224, BMW Motorrad France 99 (opposite last night in night testing) offers a very comfortable provisional pole position at the average of the best of its three drivers (1 ‘ 37.564). 

BMW leads both categories !

The YART R1 n ° 7 led by Igor Jerman, Steve Martin and Loris Baz (who replaces Gwen Giabbani) is second (1’38.109) ahead of his colleague from Yamaha Racing France GMT 94 Ipone at the hands of David Checa, Kenny Foray and Matthieu Lagrive author of a nice 1’37.834 (1’38.530 at the average of the three pilots).

The # 11 ZX-10R of Team SRC Kawasaki (Julien da Costa, Gregory Leblanc and Olivier Four) takes fourth place in these first tests, while Maco Racing (Jason Pridmore, Greg Junod and Gregg Black) places a third Yamaha in the top 5 !

Finally the SERT GSX-R n ° 1, in difficulty following the packages of its two top pilots (read), continues its reconstruction work with Anthony Delhalle, Daisaku Sakai and Baptiste Guittet, freshly debauched from the Suzuki Junior LMS team (read ).

In Superstock, a BMW again takes the lead in these first qualifying sessions: the S1000RR of Van Zon Boenig Penz13 RT (Gregory Fastre, Michal Filla and Ari Vos) is ahead of the Suzuki of the Junior Team (Cedric Tangre, Julien Enjolras and Loic Napoleone) and that of AM Moto Racing Competition (Fabrice Auger, Kevin Denis and Anthony Loiseau), delayed by a fall of Anthony Loiseau. 

Also note that night the minor falls of the BMW n ° 18 of the firefighters (photos), of Erwan Nigon (BMW Motorrad France n ° 99) and of Sebastien Boizard (Suzuki Normand’urance n ° 61).

Second qualifying session to follow

The second qualifying session is currently taking place on the Bugatti circuit at Le Mans, but has just been interrupted following a crash at the entrance to the Dunlop. BMW n ° 99 will probably win again, this time with a time of 1’37.803 signed by Sebastien Gimbert.
