3:00 p.m. : collective fall when braking the Dunlop a few seconds after the start !

3:30 p.m. : the BMW n ° 31 in the lead! Who would’ve believed that !? While the official BMW team has, it is the S1000RR n ° 31 of the German team Penz13, entered in the Open category, which is currently in the lead with the hands of the Kawasaki n ° 11 and the Honda Racing n ° 111 after to have shone during and during the warm-up !

3:44 p.m. : fall of Gwen Giabbani on the handlebars of the Suzuki n ° 2 of the R2CL team which returns to the stand: "I was climbing up on the leaders when I crossed the front and in the gravel pit a stone was blocking the disc, but it should start again very quickly ". Indeed, 3 minutes later the Australian Gareth Jones takes the track.

3:51 p.m. : the BMW n ° 31 leading the race is idling, visibly the victim of a fuel problem! Kawasaki n ° 111 takes back the controls of 24H Moto on the 30th lap before stopping to refuel.

4:01 p.m. : Sebastien Gimbert fell on the handlebars of Honda Racing n ° 111 who returned to the pit to check his motorcycle but left without problem a few minutes later.

Kawasaki in the lead

After an hour of racing, the # 11 Kawasaki SRC is in the lead ahead of the # 1 SERT Suzuki and the # 95 QERT Kawasaki, the first Superstock. The surprising BMW Penz13 n ° 31 is 4th while the Honda Racing n ° 111 is 15th and the Yamaha n ° 94 of GMT, in race for the title, points to a distant 35th position…

4:12 p.m. : Fall of the Kawasaki n ° 5 from Hall Moto 2 in the Dunlop at the hands of Camille Hedelin who returns to the pit by the safety lanes, while Gregory Fastre on the Suzuki n ° 50 of Team Motors Events April Moto leaves after a comeback surprise at the box due to engine overheating.

4:22 p.m. : due to a rain warning, the No. 11 Kawasaki in the lead, which was turning in 1’40, slows down in 1’43. 6:11 p.m. : the Yamaha n ° 7 from YART, in 3rd position, suffers a "ride through" penalty and will have to return through the pit lane.

6:20 p.m. : Non-serious fall of Lucas de Carolis on the Kawasaki n ° 5, which enters by the safety lanes while the Suzuki n ° 76 of Cottard Moto Sport takes again the track after its fire.

6.30 p.m. : after 3h30 of racing, the Suzuki n ° 1 of SERT is in 2nd position behind the Kawasaki n ° 11. "We are at 12 seconds, that’s correct, it’s a good picture of progress", rejoices Dominique Meliand: "We are seeing what we can do by letting the race settle down a bit. Contrary to usual we took a cautious start and avoided the setbacks of the competition, which allows us to be now in a position of attack "…

Honda n ° 111 is ninth: "we are not the only ones to make mistakes, there are more than 20 hours of racing left so it is up to us to be good for 20 hours!", Says Sebastien Gimbert.

6:31 p.m. : fall of Suzuki n ° 44 from No Limit Motor Team, without gravity for the pilot.

6:38 p.m. : the Yamaha n ° 7 of the YART makes its stop and go.

7:11 p.m. : the official Honda n ° 111 returned to third place, neck and neck with its private colleague from National Motos, while the Yamaha n ° 94 from GMT, raised to 11th, turns in 1’39 like the leading motorcycles.

"It’s too early to count"

7:33 p.m. : the riders of the Yamaha n ° 94 of the GMT redouble their efforts to come back up. Currently in 11th position, they are three laps behind the leaders. "We will definitely not let go like that, we are in the same rhythm as the leading machines and we will do everything we can, that’s what the pilots do on the track", summarizes Christophe Guyot. "For now we have to move forward, it’s up to us to go and find the first ones, taking all the risks. There are no instructions, it is fully to return to the 111 (one lap, NLDR). 7:50 p.m. : Matthieu Lagrive takes the reins of the n ° 11 Kawasaki SRC still leading the race with about twenty seconds ahead of Erwan Nigon on the handlebars of the n ° 1 SERT Suzuki. Sylvain Barrier, "man of the day"

8:43 p.m. ; second retirement of this 37th edition of the 24H Moto du Mans with that of n ° 44 of the No Limit Motor Team (Andrea Boscoscuro, Giovanni Bussei and Victor Casas), following his crash at the end of the afternoon.

9:24 p.m. : Kenny Foray on the Yamaha n ° 94 of the GMT places the official R1, still in contention for the world title, in front of Michael Laverty (brother of Eugene) at the handlebars of the Yamaha n ° 7 of the YART. 9:37 p.m. : new appearance of rain in the pit straight, but the track is still dry … Fall at La Chapelle without seriousness for Stephane Millochau on the Kawasaki n ° 28 of Racing Team 28 ADSL Moto.

9:44 p.m. : Mathieu Ginès on the Yamaha n ° 94 took fifth place at the expense of Gregory Junod on the Honda National Motos. Suzuki n ° 1 takes control … and Kawasaki n ° 11 falls !

9:54 p.m. : fall of Fabien Foret on the Kawasaki n ° 11! 21:58 : Fabien Foret has managed to restart and returns to his stand, still via the safety lanes. Two minutes later, Gilles Stafler’s entire team is busy around the Kawasaki SRC n ° 11 and Gregory Leblanc is getting ready to set off again. Kawasaki n ° 11 fell back to 12th place…

22:07 : Gregrory Leblanc sets off again on the handlebars of the Kawasaki SRC n ° 11 in 16th position, 8 laps from the Suzuki n ° 1 of SERT in the lead … The night will be hot !

GMT 94 climbed to third place

10:15 p.m. : the Yamaha n ° 94 still whipped by Mathieu Ginès continues its fantastic comeback and takes third place ahead of its Austrian colleague n ° 7 of the YART !

11:00 p.m. : the points awarded according to the new regulations to the top ten in the standings after 8 hours and then 16 hours of racing allow the No. 1 SERT Suzuki at the top to pocket 10 points. Honda n ° 111 takes 8 and GMT n ° 94 recovers 8 points for 3rd place, which could be precious to him at the end of the race for the title !

In the world championship, the Yamaha n ° 94 of the GMT therefore slightly accentuates its advantage over the Kawasaki Bolliger n ° 8 (99 points against 74), while the Kawasaki SRC n ° 11 climbs on the virtual podium with 71 points in front of the Honda Racing n ° 111 (63).

Midnight : the Kawasaki SRC n ° 11 in the hands of Matthieu Lagrive goes back to 11th position and will soon be able to tackle its Swiss colleague n ° 8 of the Bolliger team. Fabien Foret sets off again on his handlebars while the rain is again reported on the circuit between the Dunlop footbridge and the Museum bend…

12:05 am : fall of the Kawasaki n ° 199 Moto et Motards in the bend of the Museum. Several motorcycles stop at the pit to put on rain tires, including the Suzuki n ° 1 of the SERT and the Yamaha n ° 94 of the GMT.

00:32 : refueling of Honda n ° 111 still second. Julien da Costa whips the official CBR to try to get back on Suzuki n ° 1. In Superstock, the n ° 72 Suzuki of the Junior Team, 5th scratch, leads by about thirty seconds the n ° 95 Kawasaki of the Qatar Endurance Racing Team, 6th. 03:30 : victim of vibrations on Honda n ° 111, Julien da Costa returns to the pits. Mechanics identify the problem with a gear on the driveshaft and work two hours to try to fix the motorcycle.

05:30 : Julien da Costa takes the track on the handlebars of the Honda n ° 111 in 40th position 60 laps behind the leaders … but comes back a few minutes later … The Yamaha n ° 94 of the GMT therefore takes 2nd place at 5 laps Suzuki n ° 1 from SERT, ahead of Yamaha n ° 7 from YART third. Christophe Guyot’s team should be able to seriously claim his !

05.50 a.m. : problem on Kawasaki SRTC n ° 11 which returns to the pits. She is 17th, 23 laps behind the leaders.

Retirement of Honda n ° 111 and Kawasaki SRC n ° 11

05:51 : the official Honda Racing n ° 111 throws in the towel "for safety reasons" following its transmission problem while the Kawasaki n ° 11 seems ready to imitate it … "It’s over for us", lets go of the official Honda team, "sad end to a season with ups and downs".

 

06:04 : official abandonment of the Kawasaki SRC n ° 11, victim of a new fall in the Blue Esses without Matthieu Lagrive understanding what is happening to him … The team diagnoses a crack on the lower fork, probably due to both previous falls, and lower the iron curtain…

09:22 : the Yamaha n ° 94 of the GMT, still second at 3 laps of the Suzuki n ° 1, now has between 6 and 7 laps ahead on its first chaser, the Yamaha n ° 7 of the YART. Even if the SERT won the event, the GMT could pocket its, since Christophe Guyot’s men just have to score a point !

10:12 : fall of Marc Wildisen on the Swiss Kawasaki Bolliger n ° 8 which must return to the pit. Daniel Sutter starts again 3 minutes later without losing his sixth place.

10:16 : harmless fall of Bruno Jouis at the Connection on Suzuki n ° 53 of Mana’au Competition (Superstock) which returns to the stand.

10:21 am : drama in the SERT box, while Suzuki n ° 1 returns to the hands of Vincent Philippe, it seems to be the victim of engine problems! The Bisontin pilot had to turn around in the pitlane before leaving without problem a few seconds later. "It was only a small electronic problem, nothing very bad", tempers Dominique Meliand.

10h24 : on the Yamaha n ° 94 of the GMT in second position, Mathieu Ginès took the opportunity to reduce his delay to two laps of the SERT while Alexander Cudlin on the Kawasaki n ° 95 of the QERT, leader in Superstock, occupies the third place in the general. Follow the Yamaha n ° 7 of the YART with 9 laps of the leaders and the Suzuki n ° 72 of the Junior Team at 10 laps. The track is still wet but the trajectory is drying.

Faces relax in the GMT booth

Even if there are more than four hours of racing left, the faces are gradually relaxing in the GMT stand … Yamaha n ° 94 is heading towards its second world championship title and has only one lap left. behind the Suzuki n ° 1: a gap of only 1’47 separates the two leading bikes !

10h54 : the Kawasaki n ° 18 of the firefighters seems to be the victim of a transmission problem in the pit lane, while Cedric Tangre on the n ° 24 Kawasaki of BMRT 3D Endurance and Jimmy Maccio on the n ° 69 Kawasaki of Ecurie Chrono Sport 1 fall at Garave vert.

11:00 : the Yamaha n ° 7 of the YART seizes the third place at the expense of the Kawasaki n ° 95 of QERT, still leader in Superstock with two laps ahead of the Suzuki n ° 72 of the Junior Team. Starteam’s Suzuki # 67 is third in the category.

11:09 am : abandonment on cracked crankcase for the Yamaha n ° 333 of Viltais Experience, while the Kawasaki n ° 18 of the firefighters is also preparing to throw in the towel on a transmission problem. 42 motorcycles are still in the race.

The two Superstock leaders switch to slicks

11:12 : Poker shot on the side of the Kawasaki n ° 95 of the QERT which opts for a rise in slicks while the weather forecast still foresees "rare showers" … Objective: to return on the Yamaha n ° 7 of the YART and to climb on the scratch podium of the 24H Moto du mans 2014! 11:16 : the Kawasaki n ° 24 of BMRT 3D Endurance arrives at the pits badly damaged following its fall at the Green Garage.

11:19 am : as usual, David Checa masterfully whips the Yamaha n ° 94 of the GMT and turns in 1’48, still one lap of the Suzuki n ° 1 of the SERT. Team Space Moto 37 Suzuki n ° 37 crashed at the Musee bend.

11:22 am : the Kawasaki n ° 8 of Bolliger, which is no longer a real threat for the Yamaha n ° 94 at the world championship, returns to its stand to redo the water levels.

Superb duel at the top between Vincent Philippe and David Checa !

11:33 : SERT Suzuki n ° 1 gets 30 seconds of pit stop and a penalty point for having taken the pit lane in the opposite direction with the engine running! The team of the Yamaha n ° 94 of the GMT, already almost 2014 world champion, can more than ever continue to nourish its hopes of victory at Le Mans !

11:36 : David Checa overtakes Vincent Philippe and places the Yamaha n ° 94 in the same lap as the Suzuki n ° 1! But the bisontin did not let himself be impressed by the Spanish and the two pilots, still on wet tires, engaged in a superb fight in the following laps. !

11:43 am : Vincent Philippe returns to David Checa while Broc Parkes, third at nine laps on the Yamaha n ° 7 of the YART, also joins in the fight !!!

12:40 : the positions are stable at the head of the race with the Suzuki n ° 1 of SERT still in the lead one lap ahead of Yamaha n ° 94 and nine laps ahead of Yamaha n ° 7 of YART. 4th and 5th scratch, the Kawasaki n ° 95 of QERT and Suzuki n ° 72 of the Junior Team lead the Superstock category with respectively 9 and 11 laps of the leaders.

1:00 p.m. : at two o’clock in the morning, the rain reappears on the Bugatti circuit but the pilots remain on slicks … "We have been energized since 5 am with this capricious weather forecast but for the moment we are still in slicks ", confirms Christophe Guyot for the Yamaha n ° 94, on his way to the title of 2014 world endurance champion.

13:16 : Baptiste Guittet leaves the handlebars of the Suzuki n ° 72 of Junior Team Le Mans Sud to Etienne Masson who sets out again for the race for the Superstock title 2014.

13:32 : abandonment of the Suzuki n ° 53 of Mana’au Competition following its fall in the Dunlop curve.

"Kenny rode like a god!"

13:40 : Kenny Foray stops at the pit to refuel and leave the handlebars of the Yamaha n ° 94 GMT to Mathieu Ginès, all in 20 seconds. 13:49 : Anthony Delhalle entrusts the handlebars of Suzuki n ° 1 to Vincent Philippe. The official SERT bike is still in the lead with two laps ahead of the GMT # 94 Yamaha and should, except bad luck, be able to brilliantly win these 24H Moto du Mans 2014.

2:15 p.m. : the Suzuki Junior Team n ° 72 of the students of the Lycee Le Mans Sud refueled and set off again in the hands of Gregg Black in fifth position with 7 laps ahead of the Honda National Motos n ° 55, the only Honda in the race. 2:22 p.m. : the Suzuki n ° 1 of the SERT and the Yamaha n ° 94 of the GMT race together, but Vincent Philippe on the GSX-R is still nearly two laps ahead of Mathieu Ginès on the R1. Half an hour from the finish line, the two leaders naturally take no risk and are driving "cool" – so to speak! – in 1’43. Everyone now knows that their own goal has almost been achieved: victory for Suz ‘and the title for Yam’.

2:25 p.m. : the Kawasaki n ° 8 arrives at the pits and goes into its box so that the mechanics can refill its radiator with water…

2:30 p.m. : less than 30 minutes from the checkered flag, only Broc Parkes on the Yamaha n ° 7 of YART, third at 8 laps from the leader, continues to light up in 1’40 while on the podium, the organizers begin to lay out the trophies which will be awarded to the winners of each category.
