24 Heures Motos - Team Power Bike becomes Power Bike 113 -

The Narbonnais Power Bike team, which will start the 24 Heures Moto on April 21 with Fabrice Auger, Cyril Huvier and Patrick Piot riding the new Yamaha R1, is renamed Team Power Bike 113 following its partnership with Motoracing 113. Contact.

We knew the Team Power Bike (read in particular our or our): we will now have to reckon with the Team Power Bike 113, new name of the Narbonne endurance team following its partnership with Motoracing 113, Yamaha dealer in Vitrolles (13).

Particularly sharp this year with its sights set on the Le Mans 24 Hours Moto and the Bol d’Or, Team Power Bike 113 will line up Fabrice Auger, Cyril Huvier and Patrick Piot on the handlebars of the new 2007 Yamaha R1 in the Superbike category. Goal : "give Yamaha a good place! Maybe not the first, but a good place !", says David Barrot, founder of the team and today"host of all posts"from the team managed by Denis Provent.

9th scratch at the last Bol d’Or (read), the Yamaha R1 will be taken to Le Mans this year by Fabrice Auger, Cyril Huvier and Patrick Piot, the latter also being a reserve driver of the GMT94.

Patrick Piot

"Patrick Piot must play the role of leader", explains David Barrot, 38, former rugby player, Yamaha dealer in Narbonne and father of a little girl named Laura:"he is the one who is going to pull us up, he wears the costume of the fiery warrior for me. With him, it passes or it breaks but he has acquired a certain maturity. He is really the strong warrior who has a big mind and if one day I had to fight him, I would prepare myself intensely! If by any chance he had to replace one of the GMT 94 riders at short notice, that would handicap us, for sure, but we would be able to adapt and find another rider. Everything is planned, believe me, I will know how to bounce back! You have to know how to accept this part of the risk, especially since financially, we could not hire Patrick with our only budget.".

Fabrice Auger

"Fabrice Auger, he’s my little protege", continues David:"he is a boy full of good will, full of enthusiasm, who exudes this group spirit. He is available, but he also knows how to transcend himself before a race. From a nice boy, he becomes a "killer"! As much Patrick can be likened to a bull, Fabrice is a chameleon"…

Cyril Huvier

As for Cyril Huvier, "he represents wisdom", considers the boss:"it seems a little more fragile to me, but it also gives off this impression of serenity. Only before the races, because when he gets on a motorcycle, he transcends himself 200 or 300%, like Fabrice! Cyril is serenity and maturity. All three are different, but I like them all the same. Maybe I am different from other team leaders, but the criterion that is essential to me is the power to transcend for a group. When I feel that a pilot can give everything he has for the group, for me this pilot is the right one. My job is to make the most of it".

The new R1 2007

"It is a motorcycle which has evolved considerably compared to that of last year", explains David Barrot:"it was better born than the previous versions such as the 2004, 2005 and 2006 vintages, already in the original configuration. We are, at the start of adjustment and during the first tests, in the times of the previous racing versions !"

"It is therefore a motorcycle which should be able to compete with those which equip the top teams.", says David:"it has evolved in cycle parts and in motorization and the pilots seem to be able to benefit from the maximum power on the ground and can make the best use of the engine, which is more torquey. If we achieve our goals, the bike will really have something to do with it. It’s a real asset !"

Fight all our opponents

"Our role will also be to support Christophe Guyot and the GMT 94 team, which is more seasoned to bring a title back to the regular", continues David:"our riders and the team will have to find the right balance between giving and saving, in order to be able to replace the GMT 94 team in the event of an incident and not to nullify the efforts of Yamaha France! If necessary, we will know how to stand out !".

Today, David Barrot says to himself "determined to fight all our opponents, even the most upscale. We’re running for a win this year or later … but not too late either! The objectives are very clear in my head: all I did was not just to appear or to participate. It’s to win! I absolutely want to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans or the Bol d’Or one day and I will do anything to get there".

Spread the word ! In the meantime, let’s wish this team of enthusiasts good luck and see us on Moto-Net until April 21 to follow the preparation of the entries for the 2007 24 Hours Moto, before meeting us live on the Bugatti circuit to follow the race. inside this 30th edition !
