Ducati Hyperstrada test: what else ?

The Ducati Hyperstrada would be a fun motorcycle, capable of climbing trees, taunting roadsters and taking the suction of road cars. She would even allow her to take her chick to laze around in Corsica and bring her croissants in the morning. And the coffee too ? Test.

It makes you wonder if the reds have not sunk a little too much: it thinks so much in Bologna that in 2013, the Italians are simultaneously launching a brand new Ducati Hypermotard (link our Tests) and a new Hyperstrada !

Hyperstrada: availability, colors and price

Availability: immediate, in the Colors: Red "Ducati" or White "Artic" Price: € 12,790 (ABS-DTC as standard)

Hyperstrada as "hyper-traveler", "hyper-versatile", "hyper-efficient" … In short, a Hypermotard capable of taking its owner to work, on a ride, on vacation, or even at the start of a rally motorbike. But it’s "super-awesome" as a concept! But we still have to make it happen.

Overall, this Hyperstrada is identical to the Hypermotard: same Testastretta 11 ° 821 cc engine in L at 90 °, and same chassis made up of a tubular steel trellis frame, connected to a cast aluminum rear frame (read our) . It is therefore in terms of trim that the Hyperstrada stands out…

In addition, there is a touring screen, a front and rear hugger, a center stand, a wider saddle – and more comfortable? -, passenger handles, and finally, two semi-rigid side cases with zip.

Admittedly, the Hypermotard, which we considered extremely fun and pretty, suddenly takes on a few shapes (the Hyperstrada’s hips measure 920 mm with the suitcases) and six additional kilograms. But the line remains slender and the weight moderate: 181 kg dry, 204 kg all full..

After all, you need that to leave Paris – for the Parisians, Marseille for the Marseillais, etc. – with his motorbike, his briefs and his wife and take vacation in the south of France – for Parisians, in Brittany for Marseille, you have understood the principle !

This scenario, some had already experienced with more or less success at the controls of the previous Hypermotard 796, duly accessorized in order to make it more practical during "casa / playa" transits..
