Alex Rins takes a closer look at his British GP victory
In addition to our analysis of Alex Rins’ victory at Silverstone, here are the details of this race that the Suzuki rider has just delivered on his official blog.
“Winning is always an indescribable feeling, regardless of the category. Being on the podium gives the impression of floating. Everything is strange up there! The smell of champagne, the people of the team cheering, the fans in the stands applauding and the trophy held up to the sky. It’s a moment that seems unreal, it’s like a daydream. And in MotoGP, it’s even more extraordinary! "

- MNC special file :
“I had already been able to experience its sensations in Austin and I remember the screams of my team climbing up the pit wall. It was my first MotoGP victory and it was a really exulting moment. Winning against a legend like Valentino Rossi was an unforgettable memory, especially since it was a race for which we had no great ambitions ".
- Alex Rins winner in Austin : "It’s incredible !"
“The same thing happened in Great Britain. During the weekend we were competitive enough to be able to fight for the podium, but we felt we were missing something for first place. But on Sunday, the unimaginable happened. After the warm-up, we found something that allowed us to fight and we tried it "…
“The race was exciting and it was very hot which is very unusual at Silverstone! Do you remember how it was last year? This weekend it was the opposite. The surface offered a lot of grip and the weather conditions were favorable, I got off to a good start, I quickly got into third … and then I got scared! The bike almost ejected me, but luckily I managed to control it! Phew! I avoided the fall, I turned my head and I said to myself that it could have been a hell of a mess! "
“Then my goal was to stay close to Marc. So I passed Valentino and followed him. Later in the race, when Marquez let me pass, I was like, ‘Ouch, let him go. iron and don’t show your cards in the last corner "because I was stronger than him. In the turn before I had widened on the outside. That is why I had to carry the last attack to the interior, with more traction. Even in my dreams, it couldn’t have ended better! And on top of that I beat Marquez, another amazing rider ".
“All of my team had brought whistles and were making a lot of noise, it was a lot of fun! I took my whistle to the podium, but with all the excitement I dropped it! In Austin the team had megaphones, at Silverstone, they had decided to make a lot of noise with the whistles and applaud very loud! They really celebrated my victory. Then on the podium, Kepa (Arrizabalaga, Editor’s note), the goalkeeper of the Spanish national team and Chelsea, gave me the trophy. We were therefore almost all Spanish, except Davide (Brivio, the Italian team manager, Editor’s note) ".
"It was also great to see Sylvain (Guintoli, development pilot, Editor’s note) there. He immediately came to the parc ferme and we gave each other a big hug. He does a good job with this bike. , like everyone who works in Japan. Thank you to everyone who helped me achieve this second win of the season and thank you to all the fans for their support as well! "
