5th victory in a row for Suzuki !
Suzuki wins its 5th Bol d’Or in a row, ahead of the Yamaha n ° 94 of the GMT which did not manage to catch up … 3rd place in this edition without major rebound goes to the second SERT machine ahead of the Kawasaki n ° 11.
Two hours from the finish, Dominique Meliand kept a gentlemanly prudence but the podium of this 69th edition seemed indeed fixed since the day before … "We are still in full competition, nothing is finished because a lot can still happen until the flag is dropped", explained the team manager of SERT whose machines n ° 1 and 2 held respectively the first and the third place after 22 hours of racing, specifying that his competitors had given him"a lot of trouble !"
The GMT Yamaha has therefore still not succeeded in winning the Bol, even if for Christophe Guyot the n ° 94 team has again "proved that we are competitive".
Kawasaki was able to overcome the painful memory of Le Mans (read) but must be content with fourth place two laps away from the Suzuki n ° 2 which takes the last step of the podium.
The results are more mixed for the Honda of National Moto, of which only the n ° 6 finished in an honorable position in 5th place. Following the abandonment of Philippe Dobe, discouraged by "crown support failure, battery failure and gear selector failure", then that of Ludovic Holon,"vomiting victim", machine n ° 5 must be satisfied with the 32nd place.
On the Stocksports side, the Suzuki n ° 72 of the Junior Team takes a good first place after having managed its position at the head of the category with 7 laps ahead of the Yamaha n ° 33 of Decibels Endurance.
Obstacle course for the Kawasaki ZX10-R n ° 24 which started yesterday 18 minutes late: the 3D Endurance Moto Center machine experienced various hazards throughout the race, the last one taking place at 11:43 am when it returned to the stand for a refueling it returns the following lap for problems with a veiled crown causing vibrations of the rear axle. But the crew still managed to reach third place in the category. The first three Stocksports are respectively 6th, 8th and 9th scratch.
Only 33 motorcycles passed the checkered flag out of 47 teams at the start, following the abandonment of the Honda n ° 91 of DAP Moto, of the Yamaha n ° 41 of Team Deletang, of the Yamaha n ° 38 of Endurance Moto 38, of Kawasaki # 49 from Scratch Moto Team Green, Suzuki # 10 from Infini Team, Suzuki # 7 from D Team, Suzuki # 110 from AM Moto Racing, Yamaha # 99 of Biker’s Days Acropolis, of the Kawasaki n ° 129 of the Moto Club of Cagnes-sur-Mer and of the Motards against cystic fibrosis, of the Suzuki n ° 13 of the AJSM Kheops, of the Suzuki n ° 18 of the firefighters, of Yamaha n ° 113 from Moto Racing 113, Suzuki n ° 44 from Motorep and Kawasaki n ° 8 from Bolliger.
