Bol d’Or 2009: Team Michelin is finally disqualified !
Definitely, the Bol d’Or 2009 never ceases to bounce back: first demoted from 2nd to 10th place for having used a non-compliant tank (read Site of September 13, 2009), the Michelin Power Research Team (Honda n ° 63 in the hands of William Costes, Josep Monge and Matthieu Lagrive) has finally been…
Definitely, the Bol d’Or 2009 never stops bouncing: first demoted from 2nd to 10th place for having used a non-compliant tank (read), the Michelin Power Research Team (Honda n ° 63 in the hands by William Costes, Josep Monge and Matthieu Lagrive) has finally been purely and simply disqualified following a decision by the International Disciplinary Court (CDI) of the FIM, seized on an appeal by Team RT Racing Moto Virus.
"The CDI considered the appeal admissible and annuls the decision taken by the Jury on September 13, 2009 condemning the Michelin Power Research Team to 40 laps of penalties and ruling again pronounces the disqualification of this team", indicates the FIM in specifying that an appeal of this decision "may be lodged before the International Appeals Tribunal (TIA) in accordance with Articles 4.5, 4.6 and 4.7.1 of the Disciplinary and Arbitration Code"
But while waiting for a possible call, the Suzuki of Team RT Racing Moto Virus – which plays the world championship – accumulates 58 points instead of 57, which drops it from 4th to 2nd place in the provisional classification (before Doha on November 14) in front of the SERT (57) and the Firemen (also 57) !
"I understand the interests of other teams"
"Yesterday when I heard the news I was a little sad because we had a good race", explains Josep Monge, interviewed by Site: "the tires worked perfectly in the different phases of the race, the strategy was perfect, we were driving fast and safe and the whole team worked hard for 24 hours. But I totally respect the decision of the FIM and I understand the interests of the other teams. ".
"But from all that, we learn!", Continues the Spanish driver who for his part will "continue to prepare thoroughly to be 100% in Qatar, have a good race and gain as many places as possible!"
