SERT on pole for 27 thousandths !
With 27 / 1000ths ahead of qualifying practice, Vincent Philippe, Matthieu Lagrive and Julien da Costa riding the No. 1 SERT Suzuki will take the lead ahead of Sebastien Gimbert, David Checa and Steve Plater on the No. 94 Yamaha from GMT !
If all goes well – but in Endurance, nothing is less certain! -, the fight that is preparing on the circuit of Magny-Cours for the 72nd Bol d’Or this weekend should be up to all expectations !
Like last year (read, the crew of the No. 1 Suzuki of SERT (Vincent Philippe, Matthieu Lagrive and Julien da Costa) will start in the leading position on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. on the Magny-Cours circuit. is Julien da Costa who was the fastest in 1’41.048, while Matthieu Lagrive rode in 1’41.383 and Vincent Philippe in 1’42.050.
But the fastest man in this 72nd Bol d’Or is currently Sebastien Gimbert on the Yamaha n ° 94 of the GMT: the only rider to run below the 1’41 mark, the Var has paralyzed the competition from the start. first qualifying practice with an incredible 1’40.826 !
The GMT, victorious last year after starting 4th, will therefore start in second position this year with a cumulative time of 1’41.520 (or 27 thousandths less than the Suzuki n ° 1) ahead of another R1, that of Yamaha Austria (1’41.881).
On the official Kawasaki n ° 11, the fourth and last bike to run below the 1’42 mark at the average of the three riders (1’41.930), the Spaniards Ivan Silva and Julian Mazuecos and the French Erwan Nigon will therefore start from 4th place ahead of the second SERT machine in the hands of William Costes, Guillaume Dietrich and Olivier Four (1’42.252).
In the top ten are then the Honda n ° 55 of National Motos in 6th position, the Suzuki n ° 72 of the Junior Team (7th and 1st Superstock), the Kawasaki n ° 8 of Bolliger (8th), the Yamaha n ° 3 of Phase One Endurance (9th) and the Yamaha n ° 4 of Folch Endurance (10th). Yamaha is therefore in the majority in the top 10 with four motorcycles against three Suzuki (including one in Superstock), two Kawasaki and one Honda..
Also note an encouraging eleventh time for the R1 n ° 99 of the Acropolis Moto Expert team in the hands of Gregory Fastre, Denis Bouan and Julien Millet (1’43.705).
On the handlebars of the Suzuki n ° 110 from AM Moto Racing (12th and last bike below 1’44 in 1’43.956), Fabrice Auger is the fastest in 1’42.585.
The Honda n ° 60 of Motorcycle Review, second Superstock, will start from 13th position with Jean-Michel Bayle, Sebastien Charpentier and Thierry Traccan who shoot respectively in 1’43.076, 1’42.388 and 1’47.289 (i.e. 1’44.251 on average).
The # 57 Yamaha of the LTG team, 18th on the grid, will unfortunately have to do without its fastest rider, Franck Millet (1’43.664), hit this morning during qualifying and would suffer according to the FIM from a "broken leg and concussion in the abdomen"…
In the Open, it is the Bihr Metiss n ° 45 of Vincent Bocquet, David Bouvier and Emmanuel Cheron which is the fastest in 1’45.719 in front of the Ducati n ° 98 of Thierry Mulot, Aurelien Bantigny and Louis Bulle (1’46.362 ) and the two BMW HP2 Sport n ° 17 and 71.
The traditional visit to the stands will begin at 5:00 p.m. this afternoon, then the entire Site team will meet you from tomorrow to experience this live event. !
