Ducati increases – again – its sales of motorcycles in the world
As in 2013 – and in 2012, 2011 and 2010 … -, Ducati increased its sales of motorcycles in 2014. Its slight increase of 2% compared to the previous year allows it to exceed the bar of 45,000 units and to set a new record. Che spettacolo !
After improving its record by 185 units in 2013, Ducati reached new heights in 2014! If the increase of + 1.8% may seem minimal, it is reflected in absolute value by the crossing of a new milestone: the Reds delivered 45,100 motorcycles to their customers last year.
The Italian brand – but owned by the German group Volkswagen via Audi – beats its record for the third year in a row and signs a fifth consecutive year of growth. A double feat that she owes in particular to her little monsters…
"With the introduction of the new and, sales of the Monster family increased by + 31%, with 16,409 new motorcycles sold.", Ducati reports. Another family to see its performance improved in 2014: the sports cars !
Launched at the end of 2013, the has visibly boosted sales of the Reds with 5,806 copies sold. Best selling sportswoman in France – and by far (read our) -, it allowed its "Superbike family to experience overall growth of + 12%, with a total of 9,788 motorcycles sold in 2014" in the whole world.
On the other hand, the Italians ignore the evolutions – which we deduce negative – in the scores of other families … No worries about the for example: updates for 2015, we will certainly hear about them in the balance sheet of this new year, when Ducati will beat – again – its records ?!
Finally, Ducati explains that the United States remains their main customer (8,804 motorcycles) and that in a market in North America, the "Mexico grew by + 8%At the same time, sales in Brazil exploded by + 74% (1,174 motorcycles) thanks to the expansion of the network and the production of NED ("necessary in spare parts", CKD in English) of the whole of range.
"In Europe, sales slowed down a bit (-3%, 19,743 motorcycles), mainly due to difficult conditions in several markets", analyze the Bologna Reds, which had to endure a 14% drop in sales on their domestic market (4,284 units).
"The other European countries were almost stable", further notes the transalpine brand,"the United Kingdom recording significant double-digit growth (+ 16% with 2,742 motorcycles)". Finally in France, Site readers already know that Ducati sales fell slightly by -0.9% and 3610 immats (read our).
"Double-digit growth was observed in Asia, where Ducati achieved a sales record (+ 11% with 5,787 motorcycles)", continue the Italians, stressing that"the performance was particularly strong in Thailand (+ 22% with 3,057 units) and in China where sales volumes, compared to 2013, almost doubled (+ 97%)".
Finally, "Ducati has also succeeded in boosting sales in Australia (+ 13% with 2,132 motorcycles) and consolidating its performance in Japan (+ 1% with 2,558 units)".
