Taking advantage of the arrival of a new general manager in the person of Marcel Driessen, 39, Piaggio France (Piaggio, Vespa, Gilera, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi) is reorganizing its sales team and strengthening the distribution of Aprilia with Motana (Derbi ).

Aged 39, of German and Dutch origin, Marcel Driessen is "a motorcycle enthusiastAfter commercial studies in Holland and in the United States and a first professional experience in the German chemical group Henkel, Marcel moved into the sector he was passionate about and in 1998 joined Ducati Germany, where he remained until 2006 for then joined Aprilia, still in Germany, as Managing Director. Very enthusiastic about his new mission in France where the Piaggio group has a strong presence, Marcel has already familiarized himself with our language in a few months. He takes charge of all group brands: Piaggio, Vespa, Gilera, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi.

The Piaggio France group, which distributes the Piaggio, Vespa, Gilera, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi brands in France as a sales agency for the Italian Piaggio & C. spa, announces the appointment of Marcel Driessen as CEO.

In order to "strengthen its distribution capacity"of the Aprilia brand, Piaggio France also announces the signing of a distribution contract with the Belgian group Alcopa via its subsidiary Motana, which already distributes the Derbi brand, as well as Sym via Disalco Motors France.

The aim of Piaggio France is to "give the group’s sports brand the place it deserves"by allowing it to be"closer to its customers in addition to the existing dealer network", in order to"better cover areas where the brand was not or hardly present".

After agreement with Piaggio France, Motana will henceforth offer selected points of sale to represent Aprilia scooters and motorcycles..

As a distributor, Motana will therefore independently provide after-sales services, spare parts, warranties and training for dealers, but "the commercial conditions and prices applied to Aprilia vehicles in the Motana network are the same as those in force in the Aprilia network under contract with Piaggio France".
