This time, it is not a question of a documentary but of a biopic adapted from the book "Barry: The Story of Motorcycling Legend"Written in four hands by Barry’s teammate and great friend Steve Parrish and MotoGP commentator Nick Harris.

The Australian Rod Morris, one of the two producers of the film, tells how, while talking with a young director, the idea to edit this film came to him: "we were both curious to see how Hollywood director Ron Howard would portray a mostly European story in Rush (the Hunt and Lauda biopic, precisely, Editor’s note) ".

"Lost in my thoughts, I started to say to my friend: "there is another great figure in motorsport whose history has never been … ". He immediately interrupted me: "Barry Sheene! " I was amazed because the person I was speaking with, although British, was only in his early twenties, around 9 when Barry died".

"Are you kidding me", would then have retorted his interlocutor …"Everyone in the UK knows who Barry Sheene is! Even today, the cops who stop bikers for speeding ask them: "Who do you think you are? Barry Sheene ?! ".

The two-time 500cc Grand Prix world champion still occupies pole position in the minds – and hearts – of the British, far ahead of Danny Kent, Sam Lowes, Cal Crutchlow or even John Surtees, Mike Hailwood, Phil Read, Joey Dunlop , Carl Fogarty "and Co". For this reason – and many others – Barry deserved to be reborn from the ashes….
