The Legend of Heroes is open to all motorcycles

Initially reserved for the Yamaha 500 XT then extended to the BMW GS, the 2007 Legend of Heroes from Paris to Dakar will finally accept all motorcycles thanks to the FMA Challenge organized by the insurer of the same name. Presentation.

The Legend of Heroes, launched last year by Hubert Auriol and initially reserved for the Yamaha 500 XT (read), will welcome in 2007 not only the BMW GS (read) but also all types of motorcycles, thanks to an "FMA Challenge "organized by the insurer of the same name.

Genuine "race in race", the FMA Challenge is open to all motorcycles of at least 450 cc equipped with a 4-stroke engine.

Partner of the next edition which will take place from March 3 to 17, 2007 between Paris and Dakar, France Moto Assurances (FMA) wishes "mark the occasion on the occasion of its 10 years by creating its own Challenge, which represents the culmination of a great human and sporting adventure", explains its CEO Pascal Jaumouille.

• March 1 and 2, 2007 : Administrative and technical checks

• March 3, 2007 : Departure at the foot of the Eiffel Tower

• March 4, 2007 : Stopover in the South of France

• March 5, 2007 : Stopover in Spain and embarkation in Almeria

• March 6 to 16, 2007 : Stages in Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal

• March 17, 2007 : Arrival in Dakar and last special at Lac Rose. Podium and awards ceremony

Finally, unlike La Legende des Heros, which relies solely on teams (three people spread over a motorbike and an assistance 4×4), the FMA Challenge allows you to participate solo: for the sum of 4,990 euros, a pilot can thus enter your own motorbike (free make and model) provided it is "in accordance with the regulations of the international highway code, specifies the organizer.
