Moto-Net: What is your assessment of 2005? ?
Alain Roger, communications manager of Aprilia France: With 4,584 registrations in all categories combined, our sales increased by 28.5% (+ 25.4% in 125 and + 37.3% in large displacement). It is therefore a very positive assessment that we draw for this year 2005, the growth rate being clearly higher than our objectives..

Moto-Net: Which are your best-selling models and why ?
A. R .: This success is achieved in particular by the excellent sales of the Atlantic 125 and 500 models as well as the Tuono 1000. These products are particularly competitive in terms of price / equipment / design / quality..

Moto-Net: What was the pleasant surprise of this year ?
A. R .: The good surprise is to have succeeded in putting the brand back on track after its takeover, which dates back precisely one year. The reconquest is confirmed with a market share which goes from 1.9% to 2.3%, a gain of 1,028 units.

Moto-Net: Which was the worst ?
A. R .: The Leonardo 125 and Mojito 125 models do not offer the same appeal and are therefore less competitive. Sales are therefore more modest.

Moto-Net: The supermoto and cross-country markets remain relatively small in France. What are your goals for your 450 cc? ?
A. R .: If the off-road market is limited in France, we nevertheless intend to sell 600 to 700 pieces with the introduction of our new range..

Moto-Net: What are your goals for 2006 ?
A. R .: For 2006, our market share should increase to 2.6%? Our objective is also to consolidate the dealer network, to offer a competitive price list and to bring out new products..

Moto-Net: Are you satisfied with your network ?
A. R .: Currently, our network is made up of 165 dealers, 20 of which are exclusive. The network is perfectly seasoned in IT and many have created a website, in particular to promote the sale of used vehicles..

Moto-Net: Do you have roadster or mid-capacity sports projects (600 or even 450)? When will the Falco and Futura redesign ?
A. R .: We have many projects in range development, since we have to market between now and early 2008 no less than 17 new models, including 12 completely innovative motorcycle models with new engines signed Aprilia! Which partially answers the second half of your question…
