After four seasons of free broadcasting of MotoGP races (read MNC of October 1, 2008), the NT1 channel will not broadcast the Moto GP world championship in 2013, despite an increasing audience (from 450,000 to 500,000 spectators announced at the end of of the 2012 season).

The pay-per-view channel Eurosport (TF1 group) thus recovers its monopoly position in France, but also in Belgium where RTL Sport also stops the free broadcast of MotoGP in 2013. Eurosport will broadcast the tests, the qualifications and the three races (Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP). Only the French Grand Prix, which will take place on May 19 on the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans, could be co-broadcast "in clear" on NT1.

For the record, Eurosport signed a contract in 2011 with Dorna Sports (the manager of MotoGP rights) extending until 2014 and will also broadcast for the first time on (read). Only available by satellite, cable, ADSL and TNT pay, Eurosport claims 9 million subscribers in France, or "60% of French households equipped with TV", ensures the channel.
