But the bar of 44 seconds has now fallen with the record set by Vince50, who leads the provisional general classification with a time from beyond the grave: 0’43.745! Who can do better? Who will be the best rider in the Ducati Challenge on February 28 at midnight? Who will win the Shoei X-Spirit II Replica helmet worth 829 euros? Vincent C. has agreed to explain to us his beginnings within the. Can the 43-second bar drop? Interview.

Site: Hello Vince50 and congratulations on this very impressive time of 0’43.745, currently the only one below the 44 seconds mark and which allows you to lead the provisional general classification! Who are you ?
Vince50 : First of all, this is the first time that I have been contacted to give my opinion and I will answer with pleasure! My name is Vincent C., I am 32 years old, I am a soldier in Cherbourg, passionate about motorsport and video game simulation. I practice a lot of simulation competitions but this is the first time that I am at the top of a ranking! My best result was in GT4 (competition in 2005) where I finished 52nd overall (he was really tough!). I have a few hobbies which are spearfishing, mechanics and motorcycles. This year I got into the 125 4T Mono motorcycle competition.

MNC: What type of biker are you ?
Vince50 : I have had the A license for 12 years. I have had a few motorcycles, the latest of which is a Suzuki 400 DRZ-SM. I also have a 125 YCF in SM for the competition I am preparing. For my first year, I’m not looking for the ranking but rather having fun above all. My goal: the 6 Hours of endurance at La Hague. I like the road, but you have to be very careful with other users: we are not alone! I also like the circuit, it allows me to let off steam and have good adrenaline sessions.

MNC: How do you find the Ducati Challenge, first round of the GP Challenge Site 2010 ?
Vince50: I discovered this game on the Site widget on my home page. I find it generally well done for a Shockwave Flash application: the realism is well reproduced, apart from the non-existent bounces when climbing on the vibrators … The level of difficulty is good, the circuit is quite technical and the grip in hand of the motorcycle is done quickly thanks to its maneuverability.

MNC: What is your motivation ?
Vince50 : I said to myself: "why not give it a try? I have nothing to lose!" I like simulation games, especially at the moment I play a lot of GP08 on Wii which is a good simulation.

MNC: What is the configuration of the computer on which you signed this record time? ?
Vince50 : I am using an old PC PIII 800 with a graphics card of 32 MB and 700 MB of memory, on an OS XP optimized by me. I play in low resolution. I am doing better times than on my desktop PC (Intel Core2 duo with 2 GB of RAM). I seem to remember that my time was 1’05 on my first lap in "Training" mode, because I didn’t know the circuit well enough (0’54.531 for its first part in "Race" mode, Editor’s note). Then I improved quite quickly by taking different paths. But surely it is possible to do better !

MNC: Some tips for other players ?
Vince50 : Know the circuit well, stay calm, anticipate and understand the balance of the motorcycle in acceleration and braking before entering a curve. Take reference points for braking. One thing you need to know is that the km / h you don’t have at the end of a curve, you won’t get them at the end of the straight line either! And my last tip: take regular breaks.

While waiting to see how long the Vince50 stopwatch will hold the lead of the Ducati Challenge, stay tuned and do not hesitate to try your luck on to win a Shoei X-Spirit II Replica helmet worth 829 euros: the race is still long until February 28 midnight, anything can still happen! That will bring down the 43 seconds bar ?
