Pleasant sporty roadster, the Suzuki GSR 600 will indeed give way to a brand new model in 2011. Logically cubing between 750 and 800 cc, this new GSR appears all in taut lines and equipped with sports peripherals..

After Yamaha and its FZ8 (read our), it is therefore Suzuki’s turn to launch a roadster with a displacement of between 750 and 800 on the basis of its aging GSR 600.

Objective: to react to the success of the Kawasaki Z750, to try to carve out a piece of this big cake that the Greens have been devouring to the full since 2005 !

More character than a 600 cc but less intimidating than a 1000 cc, this intermediate displacement is back on the front of the stage. The arrival of this probable Suzuki GSR 750 – the displacement and the official name are not yet known – confirms this trend. We can also be surprised by the fact that Suzuki waited so long to occupy the ground, while the four-cylinder of the GSX-R 750 constituted a logical base – and especially powerful – which requires only few adjustments to fit into the cycle part of the current GSR…

While waiting for its discovery "live" at the Cologne Intermot Show from October 6 to 10, Suzuki unveils an official sketch of this future competitor of the Z750, FZ8 and other Monster and Street Triple.

We discover a very incisive look and a general line all in salient angles: the Suzuki does not deny the manga style of its green rival Akashi, even if the shapes of its rear shell directly refer to the GSX-R.

Stocky and collected on the front, the future GSR seems to play the sport card: a trend confirmed by its large (and unprecedented) perimeter frame and its inverted "maousse" fork..

To contain costs, on the other hand, the square-section swing arm and the axially fixed brakes do not lead to the technological outbidding: a pragmatic bias already encountered on the current Z750.

Suzuki refuses for the moment to communicate the slightest data and keeps even more jealously the secret on the price of this GSR 2011 … According to our estimates, the availability in concession is however to be envisaged for March or April 2011. As for the price, it should logically be placed under the bar of 8000 euros, even if it means later unveiling an R version like the recent Kawasaki Z750 R (read our).
