A small trail and an advanced twin-cylinder scooter project at Sym
Sym exhibited many projects and future novelties at the EICMA show in Milan, including its first twin-cylinder maxiscooter scheduled for early 2019 and a 183 cc trail-type motorcycle..
Maxsym TL: focus on Tmax !
Muscular front end and tapered rear part: the new Maxsym LT – the Taiwanese manufacturer‘s first twin-cylinder maxiscooter – is clearly (too?) Clearly inspired by the best-seller in the segment, the Yamaha. The ambitious compatriot Kymco visibly gave ideas to Sym !
Close to the seen in Milan and Paris in 2015, the Maxsym LT receives a vertical twin of 465 cc in a central position which develops 40 hp (29.4 kW), transmitted via a chain to the rear wheel of 15 inches (ditto to the ‘before). The 530 cc Tmax will therefore have a significant advantage with its belt and 46.5 hp.
The frame is a classic steel cradle, while the inverted fork and radial calipers give a sporty tone to this scooter whose trunk would be enclosed on a full face helmet. The lighting is entrusted to LEDs and the digital instrumentation seems particularly provided in addition to being connectable to a telephone by Bluetooth..
Sym France announces that "the plant plans to be marketed in early 2019", at an undisclosed price.
NH-Trazer: the quiet walk through the fields
In addition to this Maxsym TL and its new, Sym also presented in Italy a small motorcycle powered by a single cylinder of 183 cc, the NH-Trazer. Little information circulates on this small trail, segment decidedly in verve currently with the arrival of Suzuki V-Strom 250, Kawasaki X-Verys 300 and BMW G 310 GS.
Sym announces performance of 19 hp at 8,500 rpm and 16.6 Nm of torque, ie below the aforementioned motorcycles of slightly larger displacement. There remains an adventurous aspect reinforced by the 19-inch spoked wheel, the engine spoiler, the small "beak" and suitcase supports that are a priori standard. With a well-placed price, this small motorcycle could meet with some success in France … if it is imported there !
