Last week, MV Agusta caused a sensation by delivering the first images and some technical specifics of its new bomb: the F4 RR Corsacorte, the even more muscular version of the sublime F4 1000 R (read our).
Thanks to our insistence on the Italian manufacturer, readers of MNC – who, as everyone knows, are a little more fortunate than others – were able to discover exclusively that if the displacement remained fixed at 988 cc, the reduced stroke of the engine allowed it a significant increase in power (201 hp against 186.3 hp for the F4 1000 R) and that it would be available at the end of the month in concession against a large check of 22,390 €.
Of course, fans were impatiently waiting for the Varsese crest to reveal all the technical details and photos of its beautiful F4 RR: it’s now done and Site invites you to discover the secrets of this exceptional motorcycle that aims for nothing less than pole position in the Hypersport category !
Sus to the BMW S1000RR !
As Claudio Rizzotto, MV Agusta communications manager, confirmed to us, the name "Corsacorte" of this F4 RR refers to the revised and corrected engine ratings of the in-line four-cylinder: the stroke is reduced to 50.9 mm and the bore increases to 79 mm (against 55 mm and 76 mm on the F4).
The objective is of course to push back the maximum engine speed (now set at 13,700 rpm) and thus to get a bunch of horsepower up … like a certain one who must largely its "Kolossale" power (193 hp) to the supercar dimensions of its engine: 80 mm bore * 49.7 mm stroke !
The opportunity to note – once again – the incredible upheaval generated by the arrival of the Teutonic bomb in the Superbike category: who would have said that a German Hypersport would serve as a model for other four-cylinder manufacturers and force them to roll up their sleeves to keep up with his hellish pace? Huh, who ?
Still, in order to try to bite into the German for breakfast, the engine of the F4 RR Corsacorte adopts serious modifications: the crankshaft has been lightened to reduce inertia, the pistons adopt a forged aluminum composition derived in aeronautics, the valves (larger by 1.8 mm at the intake and 1 mm at the exhaust) use titanium, while the 4-2-1-4 line and Magneti injection Marelli have been completely revisited.
Result: the "RR" would fart – even more! – fire and boasts an impressive top speed of 297.6 km / h … in full power version, of course! Which starts to cause, especially as the gear ratios have been tightened to offer more punch … Mama mia !
Already present on the F4 1000 R, the extractable gearbox, the anti-dribble clutch and the variable-length intake duct system obviously remain in the game, as does the traction control adjustable to eight positions and the choice between two injection maps on the handlebars, whose control has been repositioned for better ergonomics.
Chassis: the best of the best
Finally, since nothing is too good – nor too expensive – for an MV, the F4 RR Corsacorte trades the Nissin radial master cylinder which controls the impressive braking system of the F4 1000 R (monoblock radial calipers) for an element more "noble" from the official supplier of MotoGP, Brembo.
Likewise, the Marzocchi (fork) and Sachs (shock absorber) suspensions of the F4 1000 R give way to luxurious Ohlins elements straight out of the Mondial Superbike (up to the steering damper) and which are, of course, fully adjustable.
Finally, for lovers of screwdriver sessions between each outing on the circuit, the Italian tubular trellis-type frame even offers the possibility of adjusting the column angle (via interchangeable eccentrics) and the height of the pivot of the arm. oscillating! If, with all this, you continue to be dosed by a "modest" GSX-R 1000 – or even a 500 CB … – questioning your career as a pilot will have to be urgently considered. !
Available in white and red or pearl white, the new MV Agusta F4 RR Corsa Corte announces 192 kg dry on the scale … which is exactly the same weight as the F4 1000 R despite the appearance of lighter rims of a kilo thanks to the use of forged aluminum !
Not enough to make a pizza you might say, especially as the manufacturer offers many optional parts in carbon and titanium – and also an exhaust and a "racing" electronic control unit supposed to increase the power of the 4-legged to one " record level ", dixit MV – developed with the aim of considerably reducing the weight of this F4 RR … and that of your wallet at the same time! Smart, these Italians !
